This holiday home has a great location, set at the northern tip of the Yorkshire Dales and 28 miles from Middlesborough, it's an ideal basecamp from which to strike out and discover these unique Yorkshire locations. Reeth (14 miles) and the stunning landscapes of Swaledale (7 miles) and Arkengarthdale (21 miles) are within easy reach.
The cottage is set in the heart of a very pretty village. If you're a bit of a foodie there are several excellent dining pubs in the area as well as a deli, tea room and farm shop. It's also the perfect location if you enjoy walking, there are lots of beautiful routes from the doorstep and its known as a great starting point for walking - seasoned ramblers come from miles around to set off from the village.
North of the village is the charming town of Barnard Castle (12 miles). The excellent Bowes Museum is here and is worth a visit and, as the name would suggest, there's a historic castle to explore too.
This stunning large luxury cottage is also just 4 miles away from Richmond, a historic market town with much to offer the discerning holidaymaker. Explore the cobbled market square or head up towards Richmond Castle for a slice of Yorkshire history. Just a short drive through Richmond takes you into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Head up towards Reeth (15 miles) and on towards Hawes (29 miles) in Wensleydale for a true taste of this magnificent countryside.
Further south, you'll find the pretty market town of Northallerton (20 miles) where handsome Georgian houses line the long main street.
To take in the North York Moors, travel 40 miles and brave it up Sutton Bank, the view from the top is said by some to be the finest in all of England but we doubt you’ll want to travel far when you can lounge at this beautiful property.
