Sleeping 24 over six rooms, plus three dogs, the spacious communal rooms are great for lazy evenings in front of the wood burner, sociable meals, and many a sleepover. Make your way inside this bunkhouse-style accommodation and head to the large kitchen to unpack provisions and put the kettle on. The oversized AGA is great for stacking with pots and pans full of delicious ingredients and flavours so you can feed all guests with ease. The dining table sits beside a large window which fills the room with light and complements the exposed beams and stonework which adds character and quirk to this room. A pair of lounges are lined with sofas ensuring everyone has space to put their feet up and relax after days spent in the great outdoors. One of the lounges is treated to a wood burner so you can gather inside and bask in the heat to stay warm. Leave shoes, coats and leads in the hallway or the boot room where they can be thrown on and laced up as you head out after resting in one of six bedrooms. Simple yet comfortable, all of the bedrooms invite you to sink down and drift off, and one is treated to an en-suite shower room. Two further bathrooms mean you can freshen up quickly and get ready for the day.

Summer evenings call for al fresco dining, and the large lawn is perfectly suited for games of rounders, football and stick chasing. There is ample off-road parking for cars and minibuses.

Absolutely beautiful location, all of needs met or exceeded with everything you could need already available in the lodge. Very warm building with a comfortable feel to every room. Very nice mattresses in every room.

We were a group of 14 and had a fantastic New Year in Forest Lodge . The house is huge but surprisingly warm and comfortable. It is well situated for local walks and walking in the Beacons . We had a delightful Christmas as a family at the cottage. It is a beautiful spot to be based for exploring the local area, with the garden and stream keeping children and adults entertained closer to home and the fire warming everyone after all the outdoor activity in typically Welsh, wet weather. When the oven broke on Christmas Eve (and ChristmasRead more Dinner for over 20 people was in jeopardy) the housekeeping team sorted it quickly, with a new oven in place in just a couple of hours. We loved Forest Lodge Farmhouse! It's huge with a great choice of very comfy beds, lots of crockery, cooking utensils, glassware etc. It's rustic and homely, totally unpretentious, so if you're looking for somewhere a bit "posh", this isn't for you. But if you're looking for somewhere really comfortable with a beautiful enclosed garden with lots ofRead more space for outdoor games and in a great location for wonderful walks, then this is definitely the place! We would love to return. Hide
