The cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful location ideal for relaxing, walking or enjoying the stunning countryside of the Lake District and the Solway Coast. Nearby the popular town of Keswick boasts plenty to be desired such as a weekend market, museums and attractions. The Solway coast is just a short drive away and Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders are all within travelling distance for a day out. The area should appeal to cyclists and walkers alike, as The Cumbrian Cycle way passes through and is situated on the western end of Hadrian’s Wall path.

Upon stepping into this wonderful cottage, you will feel instantly at home and relaxed. When you enter there is plenty of coat hooks and boot storage to keep all your walking gear. The lounge is the hub of the house and offers guests all they need to kick back and relax with two leather sofas and two armchairs set in front of the original open fire whilst watching a movie on the Smart TV. There is also an oak dining table with eight chairs. Off the lounge is a snug/games room area with table football, sofa and another Smart TV, perfect for the family. As soon as you walk into the kitchen you will see another dining table and chairs plus two armchairs set in front of the cosy wood burner. The kitchen itself has an Range oven and hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a utility room that houses the microwave, washer/dryer and shower room with shower and WC. On the first floor there is a king-size bedroom with en suite shower room with shower and WC, another king size room which has an en suite shower over bath and WC. Finally, a double and twin room plus bathroom with bath and WC.

Outside you will find a patio area with seating to enjoy those beautiful across to the Solway coast. There is also an enclosed garden which is just the spot for your four-legged friends to roam and a Charcoal BBQ. There is private parking and a store shed bikes.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Amble the 5-mile walk from Silloth to Grune Point where you can look out for birdlife and natterjack toads. See Tommy Legs near Silloth harbour, an old lighthouse which inspires holiday snaps. Venture towards Bowness-on-Solway where you’ll find the endpoint of Roman Hadrian’s Wall Path and the Cumbrian Cycle Way. Shop in Carlisle, and discover 900-year-old Carlisle Castle, built on the site of a Roman fort (20 miles). Visit Glasson Moss Nature Reserve (11 miles) to see sparrowhawks, curlews and grasshopper warblers – part of the South Solway Mosses National Nature Reserve which includes Bowness Common and Wedholme Flow (10 miles). Source garden inspiration at Bank Mill Nursery in Beckfoot (4.5 miles) where you’ll find a variety of plants, a butterfly house, and flower meadows. And visit Allonby Beach (7.5 miles), a sand and shingle beach with sand at low tide.
