Located just 15 miles from Blairgowrie, surrounded by superb countryside from all sides, this holiday let has plenty of outdoor activities on its doorstep. Wander the garden boundary down to the River Shee and arrange to fish for salmon or relax by the loch. Pop to The Glenisla Hotel (6 miles) or Kirkmicheal Hotel (8 miles) for a bite to eat or head into Pitlochry for a range of pubs, galleries and shops. Further afield, children will love exploring Braemar Castle (21 miles) while Pitlochry Dam Visitor Centre (20.5 miles) is a sight to behold that everyone will enjoy.

Step into the property via the entrance hall, which is decorated with old paintings and beautiful furniture. Head into the drawing room which has a cosy and traditional feel to it thanks to the open fire and furnishings Cook up a storm in the fresh and bright contemporary kitchen that has an Aga, conventional oven and plenty of fridge space; choose from a casual brunch at the kitchen table or in the breakfast room or have a more formal evening meal in the dining room with rich woods and a large window that floods the room with light. After dinner, retire to one of the sitting rooms; children will enjoy the playroom with a TV while grown-ups may prefer to sit next to the crackle of the open fire in the other sitting room. There's also a spacious family bathroom with a separate bath and shower so there shouldn't be any queues in the mornings. Towards the back of the house, there's another tranquil super king-size zip-and-link bedroom with en-suite shower room, along with a bunk-bed room that's perfect for kids with a window seat and quirky furnishings. There's also a triple bedroom with a zip-and-link super king-size bed and single bed that's perfect for young families. Heading up to the second floor, you'll find two bright and airy super king-size zip-and-link bedrooms that each have an ensuite shower room. All zip-and-link beds can be set as twin beds, so whatever the occasion or group dynamic, this house has got you covered! We have a biomass heating system, so the house is toasty warm whatever the weather, and there’s oodles of hot water.

Outside, stunning grounds await to be explored. Enjoy wonderful views of Glenshee, nicknamed the ‘Glen of the Fairies', and watch the children play on the lawn. See if you can spot any red squirrels that bounce around the trees and garden. Take advantage of the River Shee and arrange to fish – a one-day permit is included – and see what you can catch. The loch is an idyllic spot for soaking up the atmosphere, while kids will love the playground area that includes a seesaw, swings, trampoline, new multi-climb and slide den. There are also outdoor games to play and equipment provided for the putting lawn, croquet, bats, balls, football goals. The large patio has relaxed seating, outdoor dining tables and chairs and a gas BBQ.

Situated on the southern ridge of the immense Cairngorms National Park, the house is perfectly placed for guests looking to explore or take part in activities such as mountain biking, climbing, abseiling, hang gliding and skiing. The popular Glenshee Ski Centre (11 miles) is the largest in the UK, covering 2,000 acres, four mountains and three valleys. You can also visit Persie Distillery (6 miles), the stunning Loch of Lintrathen (6 miles), the Cateran Ecomuseum – a museum without walls (14.5 miles) or try your hand at archery and other pursuits at the Highland Adventure Centre (8 miles). There are several golf courses nearby including Strathmore (16 miles), Alyth and Glenisla (both 15 miles). The charming village of Bridge of Cally (8.5 miles) has local shops and a hotel serving excellent food and drink.

The nearest main town is Blairgowrie (15 miles) where you will find a range of great restaurants, cafes, pubs, supermarkets, independent shops, galleries, leisure facilities and a swimming pool. Set on the banks of the River Ericht, Blairgowrie is the starting point of the circular 60-mile Cateran Trail, and is the home of the Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games. The Meigle Museum (18 miles) hosts a display of Pictish stone carvings dating back over a thousand years.
