  • Spacious lounge with baby grand piano, a fantastic addition for musical guests and large lawn gardens and patio seating area
  • Located in the small, unspoilt village of Briantspuddle, with its village shop and post office
  • A walkers paradise, just ten miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with its fossil-rich shoreline
Property code: 42413

This property is situated in the peaceful village of Briantspuddle, one of a cluster of villages, the most famous of which is Tolpuddle, known for its important place in English history. A visit to the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum makes for an eye-opening afternoon spent learning the full story behind the martyrs, their cause, and their legacy. Two of the area’s top attractions can be found just four miles from the property: Bovington Tank Museum, and Monkey World, a fantastic ape rescue centre. One of the big draws of the area is, of course, its impressive coastline, which lies ten miles south of the property. Whether you want to spend lazy days at the beach, hunt for fossils, try your hand at water sports, or enjoy stunning coastal walks, all of this and more can be found on the area’s beaches, which include Sandbanks, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, and Studland Bay.

This characterful property makes a wonderful place for a restful holiday with friends or family, and guests will immediately start to feel themselves relax as soon as they open the front door onto the spacious lounge. There is a wonderfully homely feel to this space, with its deep sofas, exposed beams, and large inglenook fireplace with its open fire. There is a TV/DVD, as well as a baby grand piano, which will delight musical guests. Walking through to the kitchen, guests will find a breakfast table which seats four in the middle of the room, around which they will find an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. One step up from the kitchen leads to the sunny conservatory, where there is a second dining table and doors which lead out to the garden. One of the property’s bedrooms is situated on the ground floor, an attractive king-size room which overlooks the garden. There is also a shower room with WC on the ground floor, which is convenient for guests staying in the ground-floor bedroom. Upstairs, there are four further bedrooms. The first of these is a sumptuous king-size room, which makes a lovely romantic sanctuary. There are then two twin rooms, as well as a restful single room. The bathroom on this floor offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Please note, that due to the age and character of the property, there are some uneven floors and small steps.

Outside, the property benefits from a patio seating area with garden furniture, which leads up to a large lawn garden area, with plenty of space for relaxing and playing. . There is parking for three cars.

This is a lovely large cottage in an ideal area for visiting all of the attractions Dorset has to offer. As it is an old cottage, there are some uneven floors and a variety of different sized steps to be encountered. Our toddler coped quite well with these but did need supervision. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds quite comfortable. The kiRead moretchen is well-equipped and the welcome basket a nice touch. The metre drop from the lawn to the patio means that children need supervision. Hide

A pretty house in a very picturesque village. The house is comfortable and suited our family party well. It is close to many attractions for all ages, an ideal setting. Recommended.

Lovely, quirky cottage in quiet location. However the property was worryingly not up to normal Home and Away cleanliness standards on arrival. I had to clean the fridge before I could use it , clean the tables and hob and wash removable chair covers. Not suitable for people with mobility issues as toilet down stairs is at the other end of the propeRead morerty to downstairs bedroom. Fitted stargates upstairs were a bonus. Hide

Our family of eight adults with ages ranging from 19 to 81 had a most enjoyable stay . The accommodation was good although it was a little inconvenient that the downstairs shower and wc was at the other end of the cottage to the downstairs bedroom . We were able to comfortably eat together in the conservatory or on the patio . The living room was vRead moreery pleasant and we enjoyed an impromptu concert in spite if the piano being a bit out of tune . The location was much appreciated . Hide

The children n grandchildren enjoyed the space indoors and outdoors. Great family walks locally if we didn't want to use the car. Fridge freezer large enough for one grocery delivery only for 9 of us. Good wildlife to enjoy..deers and badgers as well as clear rivers to ponder over. Great memories!

It was a lovely cottage and lots of space for a family of 5. Good location and lots of opportunity for walking and easy access to explore surrounding area. Lots of local information available in the cottage too. The owners provided a really comprehensive information pack, thank you.

Very comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet but convenient location. Very well equipped and very good quality linen. Quite unusual in a lot of rental properties.
