Tucked away in a woodland setting near Higher Clovelly village (1 mile) in Devon, this charming lakeside lodge sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms. It’s ideal for a group of friends or a family who want to enjoy a happy holiday getaway in beautiful countryside near the coast. Surrounded by woodland, lakes and wetlands, you’ll find the ancient fishing village of Clovelly nearby (2.5 miles) while a drive south leads to the Cornish town of Bude (16 miles). Families with children will be delighted to find The Milky Way Adventure Park within walking distance. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, you can also book additional holiday lodges in this complex of ten lodges, all well-spaced out around a large lake. Head up three steps or a convenient ramp to the property entrance which leads to a charming rustic-style interior with timber-clad walls, soft colourful furnishings and high airy ceilings. Relax in the spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining area which is well-equipped for culinary kings and queens, featuring an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and an all-important washing machine for muddy hiking gear. After a fun day exploring the hills and coast, unwind on the cosiest of seating and catch up on the day with your gang. Sleep falls easily in the comfortable bedrooms (two doubles and two twin rooms) and you can freshen up in a choice of two family bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi bath, and the other a shower room. Throw open the double doors and relax outside on the wrap-around lodge balcony where you can dine alfresco or watch sunsets over the lake. Enjoy free fishing over five lakes on site (catch carp, tench and perch) and enjoy easy woodland walks in this rural farmland setting. Ample off-road parking is available on site and a charcoal BBQ is available. There’s a village shop, a pub, and a beach within 2 miles.
