Set in an idyllic spot just half a mile from Dorset’s stunning Lulworth Cove, this Grade II listed property is full of character, dates back 400 years and makes a fantastic family holiday home.

Make the most of a magical stay at this exquisite period home in picturesque West Lulworth on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. Once an inn, reputed to have served George III, the spacious 400-year-old property still retains some original features. Sleeping up to nine guests across the main house and annexe, the five-bedroom home is just 0.5 miles from famous Lulworth Cove and the natural landmark of Stair Hole. Take two canine companions with you if you wish, to accompany you on walks along the spectacular Jurassic Coast and to splash on sandy beaches.

Enter the main house to find rooms with exposed timbers and Purbeck stone floors. Step down from the hall into the lounge, to unwind together after days out in your beautiful surroundings: switch on the Smart TV/DVD, light the wood burner and settle down to a good film. Choose to head into the snug instead, where there is another TV. This room has unusual curved walls and an interesting inglenook fireplace. Find the property’s airy kitchen, with its washing machine, quarry tiled floor and door on to the courtyard, offers ample space for you and your group to prepare home-cooked meals. Enjoy meals together around the table in the dining room, which is two steps up from the kitchen. Head upstairs in the main house to discover three of your bedrooms, all with some restricted head height. Find a shower room, with WC, up here too plus a family bathroom, with bath, hand-held shower and WC. The annexe accommodation is accessed via a door from the dining room. Find a breakfast/utility room in here, with a fridge, freezer and dryer and breakfast table, as well as a bathroom, with a WC and a shower over the bath. Up on the first floor of the annexe are two more bedrooms, again with reduced height. Enjoy supper or a BBQ out on the courtyard terrace on warm evenings as you take in the views and watch the children playing on the grass. Find off-road parking at the property for two cars.
