Set within the heart of a vibrant village green within walking distance of the River Wye, offering spacious accommodation finished with an eclectic twist creating the perfect retreat for family and friends.

Fantastically located for exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park, attending the Hay-on-Wye literary festival, and enjoying some time away from it all, this colourful, converted chapel is a great destination for a retreat. Sleeping eight guests over four bedrooms, with three of your dogs welcomed too, sit amid provoking artwork, characterful windows and eclectic features, and spend sociable evenings enjoying each other’s company. Less than 10 miles from Llangorse, the largest natural lake in South Wales and less than 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye, there is somewhere nearby to entertain guests of all ages.

Converted into a home in 1998 after years as an active gothic chapel, this gorgeous bolthole is brimming with eclectic, rich and quirky style. Head from the lobby into the large kitchen where you are met with bright colours, tall ceilings and all the space you need to cook up delicious feasts. The breakfast bar provides extra space to prepare ingredients so you can call upon others to make light work of mealtimes and it’s also a great place to gather with your morning mug of coffee. Enjoy sociable evenings at the dinner table or dish up at the large table outside for an al fresco feast. For some well-earned down time, sink into one of the comfortable sofas and switch on the TV for a moment of peace and quiet. Artwork adorns the walls throughout, beautifully complementing the rich colours and textures of this home. Rotated twice a year, the artwork adds a gallery feel to this home, making it a great place for creatives to retreat to. Climb one of two staircases to reach the four, first-floor bedrooms, decorated in cool, colourful tones and patterns, with beautiful feature windows letting natural light flood inside. Freshen up in the family bathroom, family shower room or your en-suite and get ready for the day ahead. There is parking on the nearby road, subject to availability.

We had a perfect stay at the Chapel for our friends hen weekend. The lovely pictures do not do this place justice - Graham and Matthew have a created a beautiful space, marrying the traditional charm of the chapel with their boho style beautifully. We had everything we needed for cooking/cleaning, and the additional fridge was a bonus with all the Read moreProsecco bottles which somehow fell into our cases! Great location for outdoor activities and exploring the Brecon Beacons too. Highly recommended. :) Hide

The house was as we expected and perfect for our needs. We had a lovely time and the hosts were really helpful and friendly. My only recommendation would be a note on the boiling tap in the kitchen. A couple of my party thought it was just the hot tap and scalded their fingers. Other than that it is a superb, quirky, comfortable and fun place. The Read morelocal pub does excellent food as well! The chapel was a really interesting building and we felt at home immediately. We loved all the artwork and books. The beds were comfortable and the space was perfect for eight adults and our dog. We would definitely stay here again, we still have so much of the region to explore and this was the perfect base for a walking holiday.

Fabulous chapel conversion with 'quirky' display of art collections. Spacious but cosy and very well-equipped. Excellent for a larger group of family and friends, in an excellent position both for Brecon Beacons National Park, River Wye and local services, with a great pub round the corner. Stunning accommodation, the Chapel was everything that we could have wished for, welcome basket on arrival, the size of the place was enormous, plenty of room for our family holiday and the chapel felt very homely everything we could have wanted.
