This stunning cottage has been beautifully presented to encourage relaxing and indulgent getaways for families or friends.

Take a break from it all and settle into the tranquil Somerset countryside in this charming four-bedroom home that will welcome you into its cosy heart. Relax in the luxurious hot tub on the patio, enjoy long leisurely brunches on the farmhouse table, and head into the Quantock Hills for an invigorating stroll.

Once the wing of a 17th-century longhouse, the cottage has been beautifully renovated to create a home that’s ideal for large families or groups. Original beams stretch across the bright open-plan living space that incorporates a fully equipped kitchen at one end. A large Belfast sink and two fridges help with the task of cooking for everyone, and the central pine table is a great place to gather and enjoy a lengthy meal, glass of wine and a good catch up. The lounge at the other end of the large room has sofa space for the whole gang to pile in and watch a movie, as well as plenty of board games to get competitive over. To refresh any tired muscles and to properly relax into your countryside break, take glass of bubbles and head out to the hot tub on the patio. A useful washer/dryer is tucked away in a downstairs cupboard, while upstairs three lovely bedrooms are brimming with country charm. A family bathroom completes this level, and on the second floor, a king-size bedroom has an en-suite bathroom plus its own living area with a TV - a great little retreat for anyone seeking a bit of peace and quiet. Outside, as well as the private patio area, there’s a shared paddock that’s perfect for a kickabout or a game of cricket as the sun goes down.

The house is 3 miles from Bridgewater which has a good selection of shops and restaurants, as well as some pretty walks along the canal. There’s a host of walking trails of varying lengths on the beautiful Quantock Hills, about 5 miles from the house, where the abundant pink heather bushes add a lovely depth to the landscapes. The Coleridge Way Route begins in Nether Stowey, 9 miles away, and winds its way through the hills and on to Exmoor National Park, though of course, you don’t need to tackle the whole route. Take a stroll around The Walled Gardens of Cannington, 4 miles away, and sample some of the tasty treats in the tearoom, or head to the coast at Burnham on Sea, 10 miles from the house, for some old-fashioned seaside fun. Try your luck in the arcade on the pier, roll up the jeans for a paddle, and tuck into some delicious fish and chips.

What a lovely place to stay! Charismatic, charming, functional but also perfect for large groups. There were 8 of us and we spent a lot of time using the loungers and hot tub area - obviously we were super lucky with the weather. The living space is comfy and the kitchen was big enough for at least 3 of us could make meals for the group. Would totaRead morelly recommend. Hide

A charming cottage with the owners close to hand to sort any problems. Eixceptionally clean and well kept throughout. There was a lovely homey feel enhanced with beautiful period features. Loved the open plan downstairs space, it meant we could all be together whether in the kitchen, sat at the table or relaxing on the sofa. The hot tub was fabulous, roomy & well positioned.

Lovely cottage in the country! We were a group of 5 women from the city so loved how peaceful it was but still close enough to Bridgewater and Taunton for things. We basically spent the weekend in the cottage and only went out for supplies and this worked well for us. Hit Tub was definitely the selling point for us and it was perfect!

Lovely rural location. Superb and spectacular hot tub. Plenty of room both in the cottage and garden. Great communication with the owners. Spotlessly clean. More plates, cutlery, glasses etc than you could ever need. A lovely spot for an eight-person family break
