Home to five cosy, light-filled bedrooms, indulgent lie-ins will be hard to resist from this spacious coastal retreat. Snuggle beneath marshmallow duvets and make relaxation the day's agenda, allowing yourself to drift happily in and out of sleep. When you are ready to tiptoe downstairs, the kitchen awaits with the promise of fresh cups of coffee and mountains of toast for breakfast. A generously equipped room with lots of handy appliances, the kitchen uses a cool colour palette to complement wooden floors and pared-back style. Rustle up some treats and when all the gang has appeared, come together in the dining room where a large family-sized table has plenty of seating for everyone to comfortably gather around. If you are planning a day at your new home-from-home, the dining room leads to a pretty sunroom which is ideal for squirreling away with a book. Lose yourself to another few chapters before switching to the lounge, where a bay window, traditional woodburner and TV/DVD offer year-round appeal. Only 1 mile from Holme Dunes, 1.5 miles from RSPB Titchwell Marsh and 5 miles from Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve, nature-lovers are well catered for with an abundance of beautiful walks and opportunities to spot local wildlife nearby. 11.5 miles away, the dog-friendly Holkham Beach is brilliant for sun-kissed, salt-sprayed days. A very comfortable, really well equipped house. Sunny, dog proof garden. The pool is a real bonus, our children used it every day, as we were not blessed with the best weather. Lots of inflatables and ideal for playing as its not too deep. Very handy having a downstairs bedroom to be near the dogs. We had another fantastic stay in Calendar Cottage. Already booked for next year and looking forward to it. We had some lovely walks in the rain and highly recommend the pub across the road.

We had a lovely time on our family summer holiday with Grannie. The house was comfy, the swimming pool was amazing and we swam several times a day. Thornham is a great base for the North Norfolk coast. Any village would be privileged to have such a village hall, playground and deli- perfect for everyone.

We came to Thornham to visit Wells next the Sea to see the new lifeboat with grandma's name on. The cottage was a perfect location for 3 families ages ranging from 1 to 69 and 1 dog. We walked and swam every day and anywhere we drove to was 30 minutes at most. All the beds were comfy and after all the exercise we all had a good night's sleep. The cottage was lovely, fully stocked with all equipment that you might need. Very spacious and clean throughout. The swimming pool was warm and enjoyed by the majority of our party. A nice stay, on rather a busy road so quite noisy at times. The pub across the road although it serves good food it is very busy from early evening till around midnight so always car doors banging and rather a lot of noise. Situation good for walking and local beaches. The pool was well used by all.If you want quiet would not recommend.

Whole family including dogs had a great time. Swimming pool makes Calendar Cottage that extra bit special. Sizeable garden to accommodate all. Our stay at this cottage was amazing; the cottage is in a perfect location (easy access to beaches, local deli, pubs etc), the pool is lovely and really made our stay (especially in the heatwave) and the owners were so helpful. The cottage is in a great location and village for exploring North Norfolk. The pool was a bonus esp on the rainy day. But the house and pool area are dated and weren't as clean as we would have expected. Decoration throughout is much needed. The front gate and wall are quite low for large dogs so we didn't let them out unless supervised as the houRead morese sits on the main road which has loads of traffic passing through. Really nice place to stay. The village is very pretty and the pub directly opposite the house is perfect for a family meal / drinks. There is deli/shop/restaurant 5 mins away and a larger garden centre 2 mins drive away (not convenient to walk - no pavement). Absolutely incredible holiday. Lovely village and pleasant walk to the beach. Highly recommend the Orange Tree pub opposite, Erics fish and chips shop and the Farm shop along the road. Perfect location, lots of days out and activities within 30 minutes drive. Lovely walks around the village, anddown to the sea. Local amenities all lovely, we used 2 pubs, the Deli and the fish and Chip shop. Property well presented although most crockery is either chipped or cracked. Furniture has seen better days.
