Situated 5 miles to the south of the spectacular Cairngorms National Park, this beautiful property is ideally situated for activities including walking, mountain biking, climbing, abseiling, hang gliding and skiing. The popular Glenshee Ski Centre (16 miles) is the largest in the UK, covering 2,000 acres, four mountains and three valleys. Afterwards, you may need to call in at the Persie Distillery (7.5 miles). Other attractions and landmarks include Forter Castle (2.5 miles), the Loch of Lintrathen (8 miles), the Cateran Ecomuseum – a museum without walls (11 miles) or you can try your hand at archery and a range of other pursuits at the Highland Adventure Centre (3.5 miles). Golfers have a choice of numerous courses in the area including those at Strathmore (12.5 miles), Dalmunzie (11 miles), Alyth and Glenisla (both 10 miles). The picturesque village of Bridge of Cally (10 miles) has local shops and a hotel serving excellent food and drink. The nearest main town is Blairgowrie (16 miles) which offers a choice of excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs, supermarkets, independent shops, galleries, leisure facilities and a swimming pool. Lying on the banks of the River Ericht, Blairgowrie is the starting point of the circular 60-mile Cateran Trail, and is the home of the Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games. The Meigle Museum (13.5 miles) hosts a display of Pictish stone carvings dating back over a thousand years.
