Beautifully renovated to the highest of standards and commanding a fabulous location within the rolling hills of Northumberland, Blinkers Stables offers top quality accommodation in rolling countryside. Located on a traditional working farm, High Staward, is perfect for families and friends to meet up and explore this wonderful region. There is plenty on offer straight from your door such as walks or cycle routes with miles of countryside waiting to be discovered. Why not head for a day out to the roman fort sites of Vindolanda and Housesteads which are only a short drive away and get lost in some history for the day. A few miles away are the town of Hexham and Haltwhistle in either direction which offer plenty of shops and eateries. For those wanting to go a bit further the Northumberland coast isn’t too far away for a day at the beach.

Walking into the hall you will instantly notice the care and detail the owners have gone to create luxurious surroundings. You will find coat hooks and a spot for your boots which make the after walk clean up so much easier. The oak staircase will then take you up to the first floor. Before we head upstairs head along the corridor and arrive into the magical open plan living space. This really is the main hub of the house with built in kitchen across the left side and top of the range appliances and design. There is a retained stable wall that separates the lounge from the kitchen and a lovely oak table for those family meals anytime of the day. The lounge has everything you need from a large corner sofa with a single armchair to a wall mounted TV and a wood burner. On the first floor we have three king size bedrooms and one double all with en-suites and  WC's. You will notice the rooms hold some of the original beams and cute red windows which are part of what makes this property so unique.

Outside you will find a designated garden and patio area with seating, BBQ and private hot tub hidden by a stone walk. .

Venturing further afield, you can visit Britain’s biggest waterfall High Force in Upper Teesdale (24.5 miles) for some amazing views and photographic opportunities. Perhaps the biggest attraction nearby is the incredible Hadrian’s Wall which can be accessed within less than 10 miles from the property. We had a wonderful 4 day stay at Blinkers. Kirsty was a superb, helpful and friendly host. The cottage is well equipped, beds comfortable and the underfloor heating throughout downstairs was toasty. The hot tub was very welcome after spending the days exploring the wonderful countryside and local sites. The cottage is in a dark skies area and the sRead moretars were amazing. We were sad to leave and wished wed organised a longer stay. Hide

We had a fabulous holiday in Blinkers Stables. Wonderful accommodation which has been beautifully restored retaining a lot of original unique features. The log burner and hot tub were fantastic and there was also an unusual addition of a telescope to look at the stars as the cottage is in a 'dark sky' area. The host Kirsty was so friendly and it waRead mores a lovely touch to be welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco when we arrived, along with a few other essentials milk, bread etc We would definitely return Hide
