Situated near the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Welsh town of Brecon is the perfect location for lovers of the outdoors. As well as its Georgian architecture, the town of Brecon has a fine cathedral with a shop, restaurant and heritage centre. You can follow Captain's Walk and see the remains of Brecon's medieval walls, or visit the South Wales Borderers Museum at Brecon Barracks. Take advantage of good weather to cruise the canal that links Brecon with Newport. The area is steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles, Brecon Castle overlooking the River Usk, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle a prominent feature within a small market town. For a traditional family day trip, there are many attractions including The Big Pit National Coal Museum, Blaenavon Iron Works and the National Showcaves Centre.

Step out of the cold and into the cottage, the back door gives access to the kitchen/diner, a spacious room with stone tiled floor and windows offering views onto the garden. Whilst the cottage offers many original features the kitchen has been finished with a contemporary style, a well-equipped space that is complimented with wooden work tops and sheer units. A full-sized gas range with electric oven, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. For dining a large solid wooden table with chairs where you can open the French doors in summer-time. This is a fantastic holiday home. We would really recommend. It is furnished to a very high standard, with every home comfort. Beds are very comfortable and there is a lovely terrace and garden (perfect for the dog too!) Great location for shops, takeaways and you're in the national park in minutes. A lovely welcome pack was left too!

Wonderfully stocked cottage, it was like a home from home! Great location for walking into Brecon too. The lounge area especially is great for large groups as theres plenty of sofas and chairs to relax in without feeling like youre on top of each other. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most definitely return later in the year.

A short distance from the centre of Brecon, this is great cottage with excellent facilities and very comfortable for a large family. Local restaurants are superb, scenery fantastic... overall an excellent choice for a family (we were a family of 4 children).

Booked the cottage for a reunion with friends. Great location, really close to facilities (Supermarkets, pubs, etc) and sites such as pen-y-fan. Theres plenty of space in the communal rooms and a great patio with a bbq for the summer. The owner was super friendly and easy to reach when needing information. We will definitely be booking this cottageRead more for our next celebration :) Hide
