Dating back to 1886, the walls of this traditional house could tell many stories about its past. Today, it has been lovingly transformed into comfortable holiday accommodation that’s perfect for families. Cast aside your muddy boots in the porch and warm everyone up with tea and cake in the marvellous lounge that’s kept toasty by a crackling wood burner in the stone fireplace. Opening out into the stylish conservatory, you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to curl up and read your favourite book or watch the wildlife bustling about in the garden. The kitchen is the epitome of old-world charm thanks to the classic AGA, but you’ll have all of the contemporary conveniences of a fridge/freezer, microwave, and a coffee machine too. Make mealtimes a special occasion and gather everyone in the adjoining dining area, looking out across the patio. Two of the bedrooms are tucked on the ground floor along with a handy shower room but climbing the sweeping staircase will reveal three further bedrooms and an elegant bathroom complete with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. Grizebeck is situated on the cusp of the Lake District National Park with a wealth of trails on its doorstep. The Duddon Moss National Nature Reserve is 0.5 miles away, and Grizedale Forest is an excellent destination for walking and cycling 12 miles away. Heading 22 miles northwards, the Scafells and Wastwater are spellbinding, and those who can’t resist an adrenaline rush can arrange rock climbing, ghyll scrambling and paddleboarding at an activity centre 16.5 miles away. Ravenglass (15 miles) is iconic for being the only coastal village in the Lake District and is certainly worth a visit, especially if you factor in a train ride on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Take to the water by boat at pretty Lakeside (12.5 miles) and soak up the spectacular surroundings, disembarking at Bowness-on-Windermere (19 miles) to visit the quirky shops and eateries.

A beautiful house, with an exceptional garden. There is a kennels nearby and you can hear the dogs each day, but its not too disruptive. We would stay again.

A lovely house, easy to live on, in a lovely location. The house was comfortable and great for us and the dogs. The beds were comfy and the rooms spacious. A spacious cottage tucked away from the major towns in the Lakes which we loved. The layout of the cottage was perfect for us with a large dining room leafing from the kitchen where we spent most of our time. Both bathrooms have been modernised to a high standard complimenting the old style cottage. Equipped to a high level with lots of crockery anRead mored cutlery so youre not constantly washing cups and cutlery. Plenty of parking for 4 cars. This holiday home is in the perfect location for Tranquility, unfortunately it needs some upkeep. Parts of the day blissful and you can hear a pin drop then all of a sudden you will hear howling barking whining from the dogs in the kennels only a couple of hundred yards away in the next field at the local kennels. The locals are amazing and very frRead moreiendly there is a beautiful quiet pub in the village and there are plenty of fields to walk across and hills to climb,a great place for taking dogs Hide

We had spent a long weekend here at Bank End House & loved every minute of it. The house has been renovated to a high standard, especially the bathroom. Nice large house, good for a group or family get together. House has evidently had some renovations done recently and the new bathrooms are lovely. Garden is very spacious with good areas of outside seating.
