Set on the spectacular shores of Gairloch, this spacious property is the perfect location for families seeking some time out in the clear, fresh air of northern Scotland. There are numerous stunning beaches with turquoise water and golden sand, backed by mountains around the bay of Gairloch itself and beyond, including stunning Red Point beach with its views towards the Western Isles in the distance. Explore the quaint fishing villages scattered along the coastline or venture inland to visit some of the beautiful lochs, including Loch Clair and Loch Bad na Achlaise. Many boat trips are available – choose from whale and dolphin watching, shellfish fishing, or glass bottomed boats to learn about the local wildlife. Water sports lovers will enjoy kayaking and sailing – there are clubs at both Badachro and Gairloch

 

Upon entering this lovely single storey property through the porch, you will be immediately struck by the light and airy feel. The superb open-plan lounge/dining room/kitchen is a fabulous space for socialising and has huge picture windows allowing the light to flood in, as well as offering superb views of the surrounding countryside and loch. With two sofas and a selection of comfy armchairs, there is plenty of space for everyone to sit and relax. The smart and contemporary kitchen area has been cleverly incorporated into a corner of this room and is superbly equipped for cooking up a culinary storm. Get together at the large dining table on the other side of the room to enjoy a family meal together. At the end of the day, simply stroll along the corridor to one of the welcoming bedrooms, all of which are decorated in tasteful, fresh tones with clean, crisp bedlinen, ensuring a refreshing night's sleep. Choose from a double, a twin that can be converted into a king-size on request, a standard twin or a bunk room – perfect for children. There is a shower room with a hand basin and WC and also a bathroom with a shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

 

Outside there is a very attractive garden with mature borders and a private patio with garden seating and a BBQ – a lovely place to sit either with a morning coffee or to enjoy an al fresco meal on mild evenings. There is also a trampoline to keep the children entertained. Further entertainment can be found next to the property in the converted garage which now houses a table tennis table, table football, a pool table and a dart board.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Wander the 300 metres down to Loch Gairloch for a fishing excursion or launch your kayak off of its small bay. Head out on foot to explore the local area, where otters, seals and a host of rare birds can be spotted. You may also want to head to Loch Bad a'Chrotha (1 mile) for brown trout fishing, perfect for taking home a treat for dinner! An enjoyable local attraction is the Shellfish Tours (2.5 miles), which offers a 90-minute boat ride on a traditional working fishing boat.

For a day of walking, head to Victoria Falls (8 miles), a stunning waterfall that crashes into Loch Maree. The popular Torridon Hills are all accessible within 30 miles of the home and boast a range of easy to more challenging routes for both hiking and mountain biking. Munro Liathach is also a popular local climb that's just 28 miles away.

For an evening out, head to the local pub at Badachro. At just over 1.5 miles away you might want to park the car at home, leaving you free to enjoy some local drinks and a quality meal with spectacular views over Loch Gairloch. A final relaxing day out can be spent on the other side of the vast loch at Gairloch Golf Club (4 miles).

A wonderfully sheltered spot in a stunning location. Just 10 mins to a good butchers (also good for veg) and other local shops. Well located for outdoor activities. Not at all far from the water's edge and easy to launch our canoe. Plenty of storage for bikes and the like in the garage/playroom. Comfortable house all on one level with a short run into the village. Views from the house, over the beautifully kept neighbouring garden, were great. The very short and easy path to the shore line was the best. Just carry your coffee down and sit and watch the wildlife. Games room would be great for kids on a rainy day, A perfectly situated house.
