An elegant stone property with a lush stretch of lawn, set in the tranquil hamlet of Crosby Garrett and perfectly posited for exploring Cumbria's Upper Eden Valley. With space to host eight guests across four bedrooms, this tastefully appointed abode is a wonderful base for long-overdue reunions with old friends. Pack a picnic and embark on a hillside amble to discover the commanding ruins of Brough Castle (8 miles) with a striking backdrop of rolling countryside vistas. On returning to this retreat, congregate in the open-plan shaker kitchen for a pre-dinner drinks reception or step out onto the patio for an al fresco sundowner.

This inviting property is the epitome of modern country chic. Picture grand original fireplaces, exposed brick textures, and rustic beams complemented by plush fabrics and clean lines. Ease off muddy shoes in the lobby and arrange boots on the bespoke Wellington drying rack. Towel off soggy paws in the utility space then venture along the winding corridor to discover the glorious heart of this holiday home. Brew up a round of hot drinks or crack open some tipples at the wooden-topped island. Those with culinary flair can roll up their sleeves to cook in the bright shaker kitchen while the planners of the group pour over guidebooks in the diner. With the tempting scent of dinner drifting through the house, gather around the elegant feasting table and dine bathed in the glow of the hanging lights. For morning dining affairs, enjoy sun-dappled views across the village from the floor-to-ceiling windows while you sip a coffee. Unwind in the cosy lounge to chase away the evening chill. Sink onto the soft armchairs with a lovely dessert or delve back into your holiday novel. When night falls, ascend the staircase to rest up in your choice of four stylish bedrooms, each with a distinct style. Enjoy thick quilted throws, weathered wooden design pieces, and blissful countryside views. Completing the property is a generously sized bathroom and shower room with sleek tiling and vaulted beams. While away sun-soaked mornings on the patio or get competitive with lawn games on the grassy garden.

Glebe Farm was a very well equipped, spacious and comfortable cottage for our family gathering of three generations. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside and visiting the local towns of Appleby and Kirkby Stephen.

It was a very beautiful cottage and it was even bigger than it looked on the photos. We stayed there for a week with 3 children and two dogs and had everything we needed: all the equipment to cook and clean and a lovely fireplace that we got started almost every evening. Good quality beds and pillows, ensuring a good nights sleep. Good location to Read moreventure East or West. Hide

Fantastic cottage, in a beautiful village with superb walks in the countryside. We were 2 families with kids and a dog. Everyone had a wonderful time, even when the weather was inclement. I would highly recommend to anyone.

We were sold on the cottage by the photos, and it's actually even lovelier in person! It's a beautiful property: super-spacious & full of character, and has been renovated to a very high standard. It's the kind of place you really don't want to leave at the end of the holiday, where your own house feels a bit lacking in comparison on return!
