The friendly market towns of Ashbourne (5 miles), Cheadle (9 miles) and Leek (10 miles) have a wealth of great places to eat and drink as you relax after exploring this idyllic area. The popular Alton Towers theme park is to the south (6 miles), with Uttoxeter and its famous racecourse also within easy reach (14 miles). Heading north into the Peak District, keen walkers can head to a variety of destinations including Throwley Old Hall, Thor’s Cave, the Manifold Valley, Wetton Mill and the Peak Wildlife Park, all within 11 miles. To the north-east, the Matlock area (17 miles) is home to a range of attractions, historic sites and landmarks including Black Rocks, Harboro Rocks, the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom, with Crich Tramway Village to the east (20 miles).

We were a party of 6 adults and two dogs. We found cottage to be spacious, beautifully furnished, clean and warm. The sofas and beds are very comfortable and the bedding and towels are of good quality. A lovely welcome pack was provided. The kitchen was very well equipped and the two lounges were appreciated by all. It all made for a lovely New YeaRead morer week. We had the best time at this cottage and celebrated Christmas here with our family. A Christmas tree and decorations had been put up which I thought was a thoughtful addition! Six of us stayed with 2 pet dogs. We had a lovely long weekend. The house was very nice and in a lovely location. We would happily stay again as we really enjoyed our stay.

Instructions are needed for cooker, hob and heating. The house has been decorated and fitted out to quite a high standard. Beds, linen and towels are of good quality. Pots and pans a pleasure to use. Very comfortable family home with an incredible garden. Very spacious inside and outside. We had a fabulous time and its location meant that we were within easy reach if so many great walks, restaurants and beautiful villages.

We loved this property, the Wi-Fi is better than we have at home! There are parts of the property that felt a little unfinished but it didnt bother us at all. The garden is stunning and was a joy to be in. Our dogs loved sniffing around. The property is only a short car ride away from shops and restaurants.
