Gather friends or family for a stay at this bold barn conversion. Grade II-listed and in a delightful rural setting, it sleeps eight in four bedrooms, welcomes three dogs, and makes a great base for discovering the history, beauty and fun that’s to be had in the Forest of Dean. Located on a working farm, other properties nearby can be booked too if you want to bring an even bigger group away with you.

Pass through the courtyard of the original Victorian homestead and you’ll step into a striking open-plan space that’s perfect for entertaining. A fusion of retro and right-on-trend, the sympathetic restoration has resulted in a light, bright lounge area with a large sofa and a Smart TV, Table Football,  plus a centre-stage dining suite where the conversation will doubtless flow long after the last dinner plate has been cleared. The smart, contemporary kitchen – complete with a range-style cooker – is sure to inspire culinary creativity and has an island unit with seats so the chef can have company while he or she works. Completing the ground floor, there’s a convenient utility space perfect where you can cast off coats and boots. Climb the solid wooden staircase and you’ll find a choice of four bedrooms: one king-size room with an en-suite shower and WC, two further king-size rooms and one triple bunk bedroom. A family bathroom completes the first-floor layout. The enclosed garden to the front of the barn is a beautiful spot for an al fresco breakfast or evening BBQ, with far-reaching views over the neighbouring patchwork of fields.

We had a simply perfect stay here for my mums 70th. Location great with plenty to do. Old dairy tearoom and Goodrich castle a must. Property equipped with everything you could possibly need, was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. Layout worked really well for a family get together and even the dogs had the best time. Owners were friendly and kept wooRead mored for the hot tub stocked up. Lovely views and plenty of walks from the door. Great to have downstairs loo and utility for extra storage. Hide

We were lucky enough to have the option to change our original booking and were offered Plough Share. This big barn conversion is finished to a high standard, plenty of room for a large party. Rooms decorated tastefully, smart TV or cast from your own device. Big fridge freezer and everything you need to cook. The Red Hart pub, 5 mins away serves lRead moreovely food. Doggy friendly although they could potentially jump on the wall and escape. Sheep in next field. Would highly recommend this property. Hide
