Escape to the seaside with friends and family in this spacious retreat on the Northumberland coast, which sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms. The property is less than 0.5 miles from the sandy beach at Beadnell Bay, and you will be within easy reach of some of the region’s most picturesque villages, including Low Newton, Craster, and Bamburgh (all within 10 miles). The area is also a haven for walkers, with dramatic coast paths stretching out both north and south of the village. After a day of exploring, return to your cosy cottage to chat around the open fire or share family BBQs in the garden.

The detached property is decorated in a contemporary style, with little pops of purple soft furnishings and homely accessories. Enter through the porch and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where comfortable seating is arranged around a SkyTV. On chilly evenings, snuggle up on the sumptuous sofas and play board games or chat over a bottle of wine. Rustle up delicious meals in the stylish kitchen area to enjoy together around the dining table or in the garden. Also on the ground floor is a handy cloakroom for storing outdoor gear, as well as a shower room. Upstairs, you’ll find four beautiful bedrooms. Choose from a super-king-size with a Jack and Jill en-suite bathroom, a king-size bunk with a double-size top bed, a twin, and a bunk bedroom. All four bedrooms have TVs for enjoying lazy mornings in bed. A chic family bathroom completes the property. The holiday home boasts a large, enclosed garden, predominantly laid to lawn (ideal for children and dogs). Spend summer afternoons playing ball games, dining at the picnic benches, cooking on the BBQ, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. There is private parking available for two cars.

Beadnell Bay Beach is one of Northumberland’s hidden gems. Its beautiful horseshoe-shaped, sandy beach forms a natural harbour that makes it perfect for bathing, as well as a whole host of water sports. Gorgeous walks branch away from the beach, through the dunes and along the coast path, providing many opportunities for wildlife watching. The village has a couple of pubs and restaurants, or you can head to Low Newton (4 miles), which has a great range of eateries serving local produce, as well as its own sandy beach. The unspoilt fishing village of Craster (9 miles) is a must for the itinerary. With its picturesque harbour and dramatic castle ruins, it’s easy to while away an afternoon pottering around here. Pick up some local artwork from one of the galleries, and don’t forget to grab some smoked kippers for your supper.

This was a fabulous place to stay and everyone had an amazing holiday.
