A unique and charming property, full of character and set in a fantastic location in East Cowes. Guests will be bowled over by the views of the Solent, and the attention to detail throughout the accommodation. It can fit eight guests easily in its four bedrooms, while the big communal spaces make socialising a pleasure.

Set over three floors, guests enter the property through the enclosed porch. It’s a great spot for kicking off sandy shoes or towelling down muddy paws. Then, from the porch and through the hallway, you head to the dining room with its large table, which will undoubtedly play host to many a sociable meal. It has a bay window with seating, so you can also watch all the boats and passers-by. Back through the hall, the kitchen is another sociable space and has everything you need to concoct big feasts for your entire group with ease. It also has a table in its corner for more informal mealtimes. Handily, a nearby utility room keeps laundry out of sight, but also has a useful additional fridge and freezer plus a WC. Lastly, on this floor, there’s a conservatory that helps keep the ground floor light and bright throughout. It offers views over the garden. Once you head upstairs, you'll go to one of the property’s two lounges – a popular spot to relax thanks to its river views. You can head out to the terrace too, if the weather allows, to enjoy those views in the fresh air. At the front of the property, on this floor, a king-size bedroom has sea views and can use the main, family bathroom. A second lounge, at the rear of the property, has a cosy wood burner and Solent views. Up on the last floor are the final three bedrooms - all are king size, and one has a decorative fireplace and Georgian sink. There’s a modern shower room for all these rooms to share. The property also has outdoor space - a sunny pebbled garden that features garden furniture and a BBQ so you can eat alfresco when the weather allows.

It means that if you time your visit correctly, you can make the most of sailing events running regularly at certain times of the year. Cowes is the larger of the two towns and is the backdrop to many different shops and eateries - so it's an easy day out. You could also head to the island’s pretty beaches such as Shanklin (12.5 miles) and Ryde (7.5 miles), or head to Yarmouth (15.5 miles) which also has a harbour and a much sleepier feel.

A superbly located and very spacious property dating from the 1930s I believe. Accommodation on roughly three floors with four decent bedrooms which are all well apportioned. Some quirky additions included and we especially enjoyed the views from the Pirate Room.

The most wonderful location with unmatched views of the sea. The biggest compliment I can pay is that whilst my family wanted to go and explore the beautiful Isle Of Wight, I just wanted to sit in my chair and watch the boats out of the window. Could not recommend this house enough.

Second time weve been to the lovely house. Everything was as good as before. We especially love east cowes and the fact the house is right by the esplanade. Perfect for two small boys.

The location is wonderful, just steps from the beach. The house itself is lovely (but be prepared for lots of stairs) with a well equipped kitchen and very comfy beds. Most rooms provide wonderful views. We had a great stay and can recommend.
