Sitting in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a couple of miles from the world-renowned Jurassic Coast, this charming house is just the place for a memorable break.

A charming property with sea views, this large, detached home has space for eight people across four bedrooms. While enjoying an elevated position on a hill, it’s easy to get down to Dorset’s iconic coastline. It’s an elegant property that provides home comforts for a holiday to remember, including a pretty terrace for dining alfresco and a warming wood burner for chilly evenings.

Sitting atop a hill, you arrive at the property down a shared lane - it can be quite narrow, and steep in places but there’s parking for five cars to the front. When you have parked up, you enter through the property’s front door straight into its hall that leads you to either the main living area, a formal dining room on the right or the separate WC. The open-plan living area is home to the kitchen as well as a seating area situated around a wood burner. The kitchen has everything you should need to rustle up large feasts, plus a Nespresso machine for morning coffees. A utility room finishes the downstairs accommodation - it’s home to a washing machine and tumble dryer, plus it has a door that leads to a games room/snug where you can also access the property’s garden. Up the stairs from the hallway, you’ll get to the first bedroom and shared family bathroom. This bedroom has twin beds, while there are a further two double bedrooms, both of which benefit from sea views. Finally, the last bedroom has a king-size bed as well as an en-suite shower room. These last three rooms have access to a balcony that goes across the back of the property and provides yet more sea views. For more outside space, there’s an enclosed garden with a patio area. It is well-equipped thanks to being home to a pizza oven in addition to outdoor garden furniture. The property has another decked seating area to its side, which offers a peak of the sea.

This property is based near some of Dorset’s most beautiful spots. For example, you could head to Golden Cap (2.5 miles), which is the south coast’s highest point and offers unspoilt views of Dorset’s dramatic coast. Down by the beach, you could while away the hours playing in the surf or paddling at the water’s edge. For an urban hit, Bridport has plenty of character and cafe culture and is just under 5 miles away. Or you could take kids to the Jurassic Fun Centre (6.5 miles) – here, they can learn all about fossils so they can hunt for them at one of Dorset’s many beaches.

Lovely spacious pretty house, with lots of storage space for food in the kitchen and for clothes in bedrooms. We particularly enjoyed the large outdoor space and seating, and the attractive garden (we had a heatwave).
