Step straight out from the property with your beach gear and wander just 750 metres down to the sands to paddle, swim and picnic in the sunshine. Stroll together along the promenade, book tables in pubs and restaurants for meals out and plan long coastal walks. Arrange days out together to Newcastle, 10 miles away by car but also accessible by metro. Sleeping up to eight guests, this modern, four-bedroom property also benefits from an enclosed garden where you can enjoy the sea air after your busy days out.

Let yourselves into your new home from home at ground-floor level and hang your jackets and leave your beach sandals in the reception hall. From here, wander into the inviting kitchen/diner to unpack your shopping and enjoy the views out towards the sea at the same time. Make yourself a cup of fresh coffee in the machine, listen to music through the Smart speaker and find you have all the equipment you need to prepare tasty meals for your family and friends. There is also a handy dishwasher and a useful washer/dryer in here. Open the doors to the garden on spring and summer days and dine together at the table. You also have a downstairs WC. Wander on up to the welcoming lounge, which is at first-floor level and, like the kitchen, features motorised blinds. Settle in here in front of the Smart TV or simply while away an hour or so looking out to sea through the picture windows. Walk just over 1 mile from the house to St Mary’s Lighthouse, situated on a tidal island. Climb the steps there for incredible views of the north-east coast. Keen hikers might like to undertake a 9-mile walk from Whitley Bay to North Shields, passing North Shields Fish Quay, Collingwood Monument and Tynemouth Priory. Drive 10 miles to Plessey Woods Country Park, to explore 100 acres of beautiful woodland and meadows, or walk beside the River Blyth.

Disappointed that there was no welcome pack! No dishwasher tablets. No linen bags provided for bedding, despite instructions in visitor book. Consequently we had to go shopping for necessities!!.

Lovely house, modern, spacious and comfortable, great location and views. Grandchildren loved proximity to beach. Position of dustbins a problem as they are right next to parking space 2 and the neighbours and you have to squeeze past your car to access them, plus anyone can dump stuff in them. The location of the property was first rate. The house was great for multigenerational living. It was close to all amenities and local restaurants were very good. Access to the beach was great!

I stayed at the lantern view for 8 nights and i can confidently say that its the most welcoming guest house ever in whittely bay! My family and i really enjoyed staying at this house, not only it's clean, well-furnished and provides the essential stuff you'll need but it also has an amazing geographical location. Loved our stay in this lovely house in an excellent location. All beds very comfortable and nice quality bedding. Kitchen very well equipped. Good restaurant just around the corner(La Casetta) and the Fisherman`s Bay fish & chip shop was excellent and so busy!

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The location on the Promenade was excellent, the smell of salt air when you stepped out the door was wonderful. The sea views over the bay were great. The proximity of coffee shops and restaurants made life very easy. Would book again if the opportunity arose.

This is an amazing house, plenty of living room for 8 as well as enough beds. It is very well equiped, a nice seating area out the back with plenty of chairs, table, BBQ and really is right on the coast. The only downside is the traffic noise but if it is cool enough to keep the front windows shut you don't hear anything
