Perfect for group celebrations, this converted barn is packed with character, offers a cosy space to relax with good company and is within easy reach of beautiful Sherwood Forest and its facilities.

Head to this beautiful former barn near the picture-postcard village of Wellow, in Nottinghamshire, and find yourselves in Robin Hood country. Sleeping up to 12 guests, this handsome, red-brick holiday home is well-positioned for long walks through the trees and bike rides down the leafy trails of Sherwood Forest, 4 miles away. Approximately 1.5 miles from Ollerton, the five-bedroom property is also 8 miles from the National Trust’s Clumber Park, with its additional 3,800 acres of parkland, heath and woods to explore. You’ll also find yourselves just 2.5 miles from the famous Rufford Abbey, where there are remains of a Cistercian abbey to see, plus a country park with play areas and outdoor activities.

Wander up to this impressive group retreat and take a few steps up to let yourselves in. Find yourselves in character-filled accommodation, with beautiful beams, stone and wood floors and panelled walls. Make your way into the gorgeous country kitchen to prepare a delicious dinner with the fresh Nottinghamshire cheeses, meats and vegetables you have bought on your trips out. Set the table and call your party to pull up a chair and sit down together. There’s a handy dishwasher in the kitchen, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer for damp walking gear. After your meal, head on through to the lounge to stoke up the open fire and watch a good film on the Smart TV as it crackles gently in the background. When it is time to turn in for the night, climb the stairs up to the barn’s first floor to lay your head in the double bedroom (with an extra single day bed and en-suite shower room), the king-size or the twin. You also have a family bathroom here with a freestanding bath where you can luxuriate in a steaming bubble bath after your woodland hikes. Find two more double bedrooms, including one with en-suite shower room and extra single bed, up on the next level. Take a cup of coffee out into the sunshine on your private terrace on warm days. Relax out here with your book or take the children over to the nearby shared area to play games on the grass. Discover parking for two cars at the holiday home, with additional space available near the barn, subject to availability.
