Close to the heart of Keswick, this traditional stone-fronted Lakeland cottage offers light, welcoming and relaxing accommodation for families and friends exploring the stunning Derwentwater region.

Spend quality time with your nearest and dearest at this beautiful Lakeland cottage, less than 0.5 miles from the centre of Keswick. The property sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms and is perfect for groups of friends or large families. Whether you fancy a strenuous hike to the summit of Skiddaw, or a peaceful stroll along the shores of Derwentwater, you’ll find something to suit everyone. The town itself has a fantastic selection of independent shops and eateries, as well as many outdoor adventure companies to help you make the most of your time here. The cottage has a dining room with seating for everyone, so you can come together for dinner parties after a day of exploring. There’s also an enclosed patio area which is ideal if a four-legged companion is joining you.

Leave your walking boots in the entrance porch and head into the light and bright cottage, which is decorated in a contemporary style with neutral tones and stylish accessories. The spacious lounge has ample room for everyone to unwind, with three comfortable sofas arranged around a gas fire and ornamental fireplace; congregate to watch TV or chat about your day over a bottle of wine. The separate dining room is a sociable space, where you can dine as a group in the evening or enjoy family breakfasts together before a day of adventure. Heading upstairs, you’ll discover two chic bedrooms, both decorated in cool tones to create a restful environment. The family bathroom is also on this floor. A shower room and the final two bedrooms – a king size and a twin - are located on the second floor and offer fantastic views of the surrounding fells. As these bedrooms are set in the eaves, they have sloping ceilings, so watch out for the restricted head height. Relax outdoors in the enclosed patio, where you can sip your morning coffee at the table before heading out for a long hike or a day of retail therapy. Cyclists are welcome to store their bikes in the lockable outbuilding.

You’ll find plenty to keep guests of all ages entertained in Keswick. The town has some fantastic family-friendly attractions, including Puzzling Place and Keswick Adventure Centre, as well as the magical Theatre by the Lake. It’s easy to while away the hours at Derwentwater. Stroll along its majestic waterside path to admire the views of Catbells and Skiddaw, board the Keswick Launch to glide peaceful across the water, or enjoy a picnic with family and friends on one of the pebble beaches dotted along the shore. Your nearest fell is Latrigg (1.5 miles). It’s one of the lowest in the National Park, so is great for little legs, but still offers fabulous views over Keswick and the Borrowdale Valley.

Or stay at Ratcliffe Cottage was lovely. On arrival, we were greeted with a welcome basket of Lakeland biscuits and a bottle of Prosecco, which was a lovely touch. There were 5 adults staying, plus one dog and we were all very comfortable with plenty of space. Lovely Lakeland cottage very well placed near centre of Keswick with a variety of restaurants and other amenities. Also well placed for local walks. Kitchen quite small but very well equipped . Lovely bedrooms all with comfy beds . Great cottage for a weekend for 6 friends.

Great cottage in ideal location within Keswick. Quite local street but within 10 minute walk of all the main areas of the town. Really nicely furnished and in superb condition, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Fab location within easy walking distance into town. Clean bright and well equipped property Quality linen and towels, and comfortable beds. Everything worked although internet is generally very poor the area.

This cottage was the perfect location; near pubs, restaurants & walks. The cottage was well equipped and clean, comfy beds with fresh linen and towels. The only downside we had was that we found the downstairs areas very cold, and no matter how high the heating was on it didn't warm the downstairs of the house.

Very comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. Well equipped kitchen. No 5 stars for cleanliness as we found an unwashed saucepan in the cupboard and nail clippings on a bedroom table.
