Travel to this National Park beauty spot with a group of friends, a selection of couples or even your extended family, bringing along two dogs should your getaway be a dog-friendly one!

Traditionally decorated with a ton of original features, this converted farmhouse property offers you and your group the chance to step back in time and enjoy some of the simpler things in life. For example, the majestic open-plan living space is separated by an authentic stone fireplace with wood burner set inside, perfect for curling up by the warmth of an open flame and chatting away come the evening. Stone flagged flooring unites the kitchen, lounge and dining room, whilst a look out of any of the windows or the French doors allows you to admire the stunning mountain views that the Lake District is well known for. Of course, during warm and sunny weather you'll be able to appreciate these views even more from the garden. This is probably the best cottage we have ever stayed in in terms of location, comfort and with a lovely back lawn and patio. Beautiful!

Lovely location for this cottage - with expansive views over to Skiddaw.. Good walks directly from the barn- very nice stroll through the woods to Braithwaite, or up into the Whinlatter Forest. The barn conversion has been done very well - the lounge, dining area and kitchen all have a very nice "feel" to them. With the tree upstairs bedrooms you nRead moreeeded to be aware of low headroom in places.. The Kitchen was very well equiped, but no "starter pack" was provided. Hope to return one day! Hide

Stayed at Hall Garth Barn this week, location was perfect, very quiet, views from every window was stunning, pub was a pleasant stroll away, access to the surrounding area easy, the barn was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and bed linen clean and fresh, and the barn was quite child friendly. Great location of barn - wonderful views. The cottage is all on one level so great for multi generational guests. Well equipped kitchen and lovely garden. Please note that when we visited there is only WIFI access in one half of the property and 8 guests have share one ensuite shower - this may not bother you :)

We chose this barn for a family getaway of 4 generations plus dog. It is in a peaceful location with stunning views and great local walks and amenities. We loved watching the lambs in the field opposite and the birds in the garden. The shower in the bathroom is not really a proper option so ended up queing for the main one. Fabulous location, but a little pricey for a half-term holiday. Lots of character, but access to end bedroom is for short people only! Shame the back door was kept locked. Really enjoyed the log fire.
