Whether you prefer to explore the area on two wheels or with walking boots in tow, step out and unearth the Yorkshire countryside together. The North York Moors National Park begins just 12.5 miles away and offers an endless supply of waymarked walking or cycling routes for adventurers of all capabilities. Also plan a trip to the North Riding Forest Park, 19 miles, away.

Ensure you spend time on the stunning Yorkshire coastline, just 8 miles from the house. Visit Scarborough, 14 miles away, where you can make your way through the historic streets to explore the castle or pop into St Mary’s churchyard to visit Anne Bronte’s grave. Enjoy a stroll around the South Cliff area, taking in the famous spa and Italian Gardens. Catch the cliff lift down to the beach and walk around to the peaceful North Bay, visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and Asian influences.

The old railway line which ran from Scarborough to Whitby is now a cycle and walking route and is the perfect choice if you feel like a coastal stroll taking in some spectacular scenery. Sitting at the eastern foot of the North York Moors, this area has a dramatic landscape of heather and open moorland. Somewhat smaller than the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors still cover an area of almost 600 square miles and, as in the Dales, you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly.

But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the moors. In place of harsh limestone and dramatic peaks, you’ll find gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. There is a sense of wilderness, particularly on top of the high central moorlands, but it’s cast in comforting soft focus.

If youre thinking of booking this property dont hesitate. Its absolutely incredible, from the drive up to the secluded spot with incredible views for miles, to the gorgeous warm swimming pool, the high end utensils and appliances. We had a fantastic holiday in Westfield house. The house was beautiful, very very clean, well kept, with a nice garden with the added bonus of a large swimming pool which we and the kids loved. The owners were very friendly hosts, very helpful if we needed anything. Westfield House is absolutely lovely. The location gives beautiful views across the Wolds and is within an easy drive of many interesting attractions/beaches. It is stylishly furnished and has a very well-equipped kitchen with everything you would need to cater for a large party. We had the most wonderful week at Westfield House- it is the most beautiful property we have ever stayed at- and the views are utterly spectacular. The owners made us feel so welcome and everything we could possibly want was at our fingertips. The decor was superb in every room with beautiful pieces and the level of detail in design is stunning.
