Look out towards the sea from this beautiful former barn, one of three delightful holiday homes set on a farm in scenic surroundings in North Devon. The immaculate rural abode, which sleeps up to eight guests, is located approximately 3 miles from Hartland and about the same distance from the coast. Head out on walks through the gorgeous Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast and perhaps follow a section of the South West Coast Path. Visit nearby historical sites and beauty spots or simply relax at this luxurious, four-bedroom, holiday home which could suit a group of friends or two families keen to escape together.

 

Enter the stone barn to discover a reception hall and then the bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This beautiful room, with its vaulted and beamed ceiling, is very much at the heart of the holiday home and is where you will spend much of your time together, unwinding, cooking, dining and gazing out of the windows. Prepare tasty holiday fare or chat to the chef as you perch at the breakfast bar in the central island with a glass of wine. Gather round the table to eat then make your way over to the soft seating to switch on the Smart TV and find a movie that everyone will enjoy. Open the doors on to the garden on fine days so everyone can amble in and out. Also at ground-floor level, find a double bedroom and a twin, with zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as a super-king-size if arranged in advance, plus a family shower room. Venture upstairs to discover two king-size bedrooms, one of which can be transformed into a room with two 2’6” singles if discussed at booking. There is also a shared bathroom and a landing with handy work space. All the bedrooms at the barn have Smart TVs so you can enjoy slow mornings watching your favourite programmes over your first cup of tea of the day. Soak up the sunshine out in the garden as often as possible; cook supper out in the fresh air on the BBQ and gather round the fire pit on warm nights so you can take in the night skies. Arrange with the owners to enjoy a walk through the farm.

Stroll through the grounds of Hartland Abbey, which dates back to the 1100s and was used as a location for some of the scenes for the BBC’s version of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility. Pack a picnic and hike approximately 3 miles to stunning Speke’s Mill Mouth Waterfall, which descends 30 metres into a hidden pool on the coast, or 2.5 miles to picturesque Welcombe Mouth Beach.

A beautiful place to stay and wonderful accommodation for our family and 2 dogs. It had everything that we needed from high chairs to travel cots and stair gates. Everything had been thought of.

A beautiful Barn fully equipped with everything you need and more. Coupled with friendly and helpful hosts. Situated so we could easy reach the various places we planned to visit, and to make the most of the fabulous views of Devon. Lovely location though susceptible to Atlantic weather coming in which clearly is not manageable! Very well equipped and great for a multigeneration family holiday. Lovely hosts . Great beaches nearby. Coast path a long walk away. Good outdoor space and lovely view.

This was a lovely place to stay - we were 3 generations of an Anglo - French family and everyone had a great time. The barn was very well equipped making catering for 8 straightforward. There were outside games and the trampoline was a hit with the grandchildren. There was plenty to see and do in the area. We would all highly recommend.

Lower Firebeacon Barn is beautiful spacious and spotlessly clean with wonderful countryside views. Would highly recommend this property. The seating in the garden is a lovely sun trap for sun worshipers like myself

We chose this cottage based on both photos/reviews. It really didn't disappoint! Some properties have clever photos to distract and hide their shortcomings. This was the polar opposite! We would have moved in if we were able, it really suited us down to the ground. Large airy internal spaces; well-appointed rooms; great facilities; cutlery, crockerRead morey, glasses, pans and cutlery all in abundance. Views were amazing. We were 4 adults +16 month old. We recently enjoyed a very relaxing stay at this lovely property which is situated on a working farm. The barn itself was very spacious, clean and well equipped. There are beautiful views of sweeping fields towards the sea and we were entertained on many mornings by swifts and even a couple of distant buzzards. Absolutely beautiful location, and the perfect base to explore the North Devon coastline. The property is finished to a high standard and is decorated tastefully. The photos dont do the size justice, not the splendour of the views. The location is quiet and secluded, but close enough to pubs, shops, restaurants etc. The farm is great, and the childRead moreren loved seeing the animals every day. Wow . We absolutely loved it. There was only 4 of us so we had plenty of room and the weather was great. However the stable/ barn was fantastic, so well equipped and comfortable and a lovely welcome hamper too. We will definitely be going back.

We had the most amazing get away! The cottage was immaculate with great facilities. It was spacious, with beautiful outdoor space, views across the field and the ocean in the background. The atmosphere is peaceful and still with lots of privacy. The beds were so comfortable; I sleep like a baby every night (and this is coming from someone who does Read morenot sleep well). I came back home refreshed with a new burst of energy. The owners are very generous and hospitable I hope to return soon. Thank you! Hide
