Superbly renovated and steeped in its historic past, this stunning barn is nestled in the countryside yet near to the coast, making it a perfect escape for families and friends.

Reconnect with nature at this impressive Cornish stone barn within easy reach of the windswept Atlantic coast. Set among farmland, the wisteria-clad property sleeps ten guests across five bedrooms, and welcomes up to four dogs, making it ideal for special get-togethers and birthday celebrations. A scenic 2-mile woodland walk takes you straight from the front door to the seaside village of Porthtowan. Play cricket or rounders on the large sandy beach or take a cooling dip in the secret tidal pool, which is only accessible at low tide. Handily, there’s an outdoor bath at the cottage to wash off any remnants of sand when you get back. On those stay-at-home afternoons indoors, organise team competitions in the games room, making sure the rivalry doesn’t get too heated!

Inside, exposed ceiling beams and other original features make the property feel traditional and homely. Create sumptuous feasts for all the gang in the sleek open-plan kitchen. Have the TV on in the background or listen to your favourite tunes on the Sonos sound system while preparing your culinary masterpiece. If it’s a chilly evening, fire up the wood burner to make the room snug in time for dinner. Afterwards, get settled on the comfortable sofas in the lounge to watch a family movie on the Smart TV. On warm days, throw open the bifold doors leading to the terrace and pop a few snacks on the BBQ for an outdoor party. Stairs from different wings of the house lead up to the bedrooms, all with lovely countryside views. The king-size room has a Juliet balcony, so you can open the doors and listen to the tranquil sounds of the countryside.
