This family and pet-friendly property has an enclosed garden, two wood burners, lovely views of the countryside and is set under 0.25 miles of the delightful town of Beaminster and its amenities.

Set amongst rural splendour, under 0.25 miles from the centre of Beaminster, this family-friendly abode sleeps eight guests and is ideal for exploring the Dorset coast and countryside alike. Whether you envisage a stay characterised by roaring wood burners and hot cocoa or summer adventures rounded off with BBQs and al fresco fun, your entire party will be able to relax in style. Historic Beaminster boasts an array of pubs, boutiques and two bistros to peruse, but a short drive will bring you to the bustling streets of Bridport (6.5 miles) or the pebble beach and thriving seaside town of Lyme Regis (17 miles).

Cosy and homely with a rustic vibe throughout, this pretty cottage offers a comfortable home-from-home complete with two wood burners and a coffee machine for your caffeine fix. Climb the two steps to the door and rally everyone for a hearty meal, preparing your locally sourced ingredients in the galley-style kitchen and feasting in the dining room warmed by the wood burner. Curl up in the lounge for a family film night, passing around the popcorn and slipping a few treats to your accompanying canine as he dozes by the second wood burner. The handy utility room has ample storage for muddy boots as well as laundry facilities, but you’ll also find access to a sunroom that’s perfect for enjoying a brew before everyone else wakes up to start the day. Younger guests will be thrilled to find a play area hidden underneath the stairs, an excellent distraction whilst you pamper yourself in the bathroom on the half-landing upstairs. The main landing reveals four bedrooms, the largest of which boasts a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. Outside, the split-level garden is a treat for BBQs in the sunshine, and there is an additional lawn to the front of the property. An off-road parking space for one car is found to the side.

We really enjoyed our stay at Clare Cottage. The beds were an absolute dream, so comfy! The accommodation was great for myself and grown up kids and family. We had a lovely week in the cottage. We were very lucky with the weather as we stayed during the heat wave. A great location to explore beaches along the Dorset coast. Our favourite is still Lyme Regis. The house was a great base and we had plenty of space. There is only one parking space in the drive but we were able to park in the road. There areRead more only double beds (as stated) in the rooms so might be something to consider if older children are part of your party and refuse to share! Hide

Well laid out property. Enclosed garden so safe for dog owners. The road outside can be busy at times and no pavement. I think it is the back road to Dorchester and some car drivers went too fast for a residential street. Taking the dog out at night make sure you have a torch and be alert. Most of the day it was fine.

Thoroughly enjoyed our February half term stay at Claire Cottage. It comfortably accommodated our family of 6+ 2 dogs. The large log burner was lovely to relax in front of in the evenings. Beaminster and surrounding area is lovely to explore and has numerous pubs, restaurants and cafes serving really good home cooked food.
