Bring the whole family including lucky canine companions for a stay in this traditional farmhouse. Relish the rural delights of farm life before venturing into the mountains.

Close to the waterside village of Talybont-on-Usk, there are handfuls of riverside, peak-top and activity-fuelled adventures to be had nearby. Sleeping 13 across seven rooms, and three dogs, this characterful bolthole is a wonderous base for reuniting with family and friends. Enjoy adventure-filled days and sociable evenings in one of the many spacious rooms or roam the acres of farmland which surround you and make some new four-legged friends.

Wind your way down the tree-lined lane and find this chocolate-box farmhouse standing proud amidst blossom and verdant land. Step in via the pretty porch and begin to make yourselves at home, choosing bedrooms, unpacking provisions and putting the kettle on for a warm welcome. For chilly evenings after days spent exploring, light the wood burner in its charming inglenook fireplace, and cosy up for a while. The bright kitchen has a four-oven AGA so you can pile on the pans and feed everyone with ease after plating up at the large table. A second kitchen is great for storing leftovers and for packing up picnics ahead of adventures. For a post-dinner tipple make your way through to the conservatory area or throw open the doors and head outside to the fabulous, enclosed garden, a safe space for everyone to play, dine and unwind. Socialising is fun but tiring work - seven gorgeous bedrooms invite you to sink into comfortable bedding and wake feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. Sitting on the first floor, along with two family bathrooms and a shower room, the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with splashes of colour, and one has an exquisite hand-carved four-poster bed. There is ample on-site parking.

Fantastic farmhouse conveniently located for Brecons National Park and local walks including the Monmouth-Brecon Canal. Grounds of the property are extensive. This house is vast. Works really well for a big group as there are so many break off areas, everyone has their own space. It was comfortable, characterful and well equipped. Maybe a little maintenance needed here and there but didn't take away from it being a great place to stay. Lovely canal walks to local pubs and the village. The Royal Oak at PeRead morencelli is a nice walk, about 35-40 minutes away. We all loved our stay here and would happily return. Hide
