This beautiful Lakeland house offers an ideal getaway for the family nestled between the Lake district and Yorkshire dales national parks

Located in a rural Lake District village to the north of Kendal, this beautifully renovated traditional Lakeland farmhouse enjoys a delightful riverside location and makes a beautiful holiday home for a group of friends or a larger family seeking a secluded and idyllic retreat. With the Lake District to the west and the Yorkshire Dales to the east, this magical 17th-century property is ideally situated for guests who are looking to explore this stunning area. Offering ample space for eight guests across four cosy bedrooms, this is a fantastic base for keen walkers, cyclists and nature-lovers with plenty of opportunities nearby for activities including kayaking, mountain biking, canoeing and climbing.

Entering the cottage, you will find yourself in the light and welcoming lounge, which features plenty of comfortable seating and a Smart TV, making this a lovely space to relax and chat or watch a movie in the evening. The room also features original beams and a traditional wood burner set in a whitewashed stone inglenook. Behind the lounge is the stylish kitchen/diner, newly kitted out for 2020 but retaining its warm farmhouse ambience and original ceiling beams. The kitchen is fully equipped and a pleasure to prepare meals in, which you can then enjoy in the attractive dining area. Four bedrooms can be found on the first floor: two king-size rooms with river views, a master bedroom with a king-size zip-and-link bed, and a children’s bunk bedroom tucked away and hidden by a secret door. The property also features a ground-floor shower room and a first-floor family bathroom. Stepping outside, the picturesque garden has seating and a table, and makes a lovely spot to relax in. Logs and fresh eggs can be purchased next door.

A Lovely cottage in a lovely location. Really calming to hear the stream close by. Be aware of the narrow 2 and half mile or so drive to the house however this is to be expected in the Lake District. The house is well equipped with kitchen utensils, appliances including washing machine and drier. Plenty of board games to keep the children entertainRead moreed. Ample parking available, we had 3 cars parked on the drive at one time. Hide
