The friendly town of Great Torrington (4.5 miles) is known as the Cavalier Town and has a wide variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. The Torrington area is also home to the famous Dartington Crystal and RHS Garden Rosemoor. Heading to the coast there are some lovely seaside resorts including Bude (20 miles), Westward Ho! (11.5 miles) and Clovelly (13.5 miles). Other local family attractions include The Milky Way Adventure Park (11 miles), The BIG Sheep (10 miles) and the ancient parklands at Dunsland (8 miles). The great expanse of Dartmoor lies to the south (24 miles), and there are plenty of opportunities for activities including cycling, horse riding, fishing and water sports.

Beautiful cottage I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. We stayed at Barns Farms for a week, with a multi generation family. Mother late 80s and grandson 5 years old and everyone had a lovely time., plus two dogs, who made the most of the large secure garden and paddock.

What a wonderful property ! Location amazing for a relaxing get away, with wildlife in abundance to watch & hear. Beautifully presented house in Devon in a great location. The owners have created a lovely holiday home with gorgeous use of space, furnishings and the hot tub. We visited the coast and walked the Tarka Trail which is a few minutes drive away. Our stay was lovely. We were a party of 8 and 3 dogs. The house is beautiful and spacious set in a quiet location. The host was very accommodating when we arrived by letting us access the property slightly early. We were left alone but could have contacted the host with any issues - there werent any, we would thoroughly recommend this property

A wonderful, relaxing and very sunny 2 weeks at Barns Farm. Such a peaceful location with lovely views and a large enclosed garden for our dog and plenty of walks nearby. Anna was a great host and looked after us so well. The hot tub and games room is an added bonus as was the dog welcome pack which was such a nice touch. This is an absolutely beautiful property with all the 'bells and whistles' needed. Our Biewer Terier loved the space to play and lots of rabbits to chase in the garden. A wonderful clean and well equipped property with a lovely view over the fields from the house and the hot tub, we liked watching the birds on the feeders in the garden, a good stop for exploring North Devon, but you do need a car.

Had an absolutely brilliant stay. Lovely layout, comfy beds, great facilities and loved the wood burner. The garden is fantastic for dogs as it is enclosed. Nice to be out of the way a bit and still close enough for a day out at the beach. We had a great time surfing at Westward ho! and Bude. All round had a brilliant time :-)

Barns Farm and its garden were excellent for children and dogs. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The proximity of the Tarka Trail made it a perfect location for cycling, walking and running. Westward Ho beach was lovely -about 30 minutes away. A great place for a family holiday!
