Enjoying an enviable position between Inverness, Loch Ness and the Cairngorms, this attractively renovated property offers fantastic accommodation for a large group seeking a spacious holiday retreat.

Sitting in the expansive  grounds of the private 12,500 acre Estate, this unique property is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a luxurious base for get-togethers and special occasions. Sleeping up to 16 guests across eight en-suite bedrooms this is a spacious cottage comprising a converted chapel and tenants hall. Artwork adorns the walls of the drawing room, a generous space for socialising together late into the evening. Gather together for fine food in the formal dining room, an elegant and comfortable room where you can share leisurely meals and engaging conversation. Your rural retreat is ideally situated for exploring the Highland countryside. Enjoy walks through the estate grounds straight from the front door or follow the path to tranquil Loch, hidden away in the woodlands for a waterside picnic or practise your serve on the private tennis court. 

Arranged over one level, your holiday home boasts spacious accommodation, with luxurious interiors and a stylish design. The large kitchen is very sleek and modern and designed to cater for large numbers with warming drawers, three dishwashers, serving hatches, a large AGA as well as a range cooker, and boiling water taps. Younger guests can dine in the breakfast room or the whole party can share tasty meals in the formal dining room, a light, open space with family portraits adorning the walls and an open fire crackling in the hearth. The family crest is set in stained glass in the book-lined library, an inviting room to enjoy cocktails in front of the blazing fire or sink into one of the cosy chairs and catch up on the gossip. Guests have use of the gun room and there is a handy drying room for keeping coats, walking boots and wellies. When it’s time to retire, there are eight elegant bedrooms, well-appointed with comfortable beds dressed in crisp linens and co-ordinating soft furnishings. There are four double bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms and two with en-suite facilities, a super-king bedroom with en-suite bathroom and three twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The adjoining annexe has a twin bedroom with bath and shower. To ensure you relax and enjoy your stay, a housekeeper visits for 2 hours a day to tidy up and clean fires.

Venturing outside, there are innumerable walks through the estate from the doorstep and expansive gardens to explore. Guests have the use of the private tennis court. There is ample parking at the property.

With adventure right on your doorstep, you won't have to go far for things to see and do. Guests of all generations, two-legged and four, will have a fantastic time discovering the surrounds and enjoying the activities available a stone's throw from this magnificent property. That said, there is also plenty to do elsewhere if you fancy a change of scene. To get started, a tour of Loch Ness is a must and there are several local operators who will take you out on the water. As well as amazing scenery you will also get a chance to see beautiful local wildlife, including golden eagles if you're lucky!

For a city of town vibes, 13 miles away Inverness plays host to a multitude of activities and attractions, not to mention lots of great eateries too. Indulge in a spot of window shopping and enjoy the experience of being served expertly crafted food in one the city's finest establishments. Another day, spend a few hours exploring Fort George (22.5 miles) before hopping over to Inverness Castle (10.5 miles) and learning a bit about the area's fascinating history. For a fiery pit-stop, the Tomatin Distillery is only 14 miles away and invites visitors to sample and learn about their award-winning whiskies.

We had a fantastic 6 nights at Farr House. The accomodation is beautiful, with some stunning rooms and was well equipped with everything we needed. The location is amazing, surrounded by well kept grounds and pine forests with the bonus of a tennis court and a private loch a few minutes walk away. Great for adults and children.
