The beauty of this property is its versatile location which puts both cultural and outdoorsy attractions within close reach. Learn some more about Scotland's rich history with a trip to one of the local castles, including the medieval Doune Castle (8.5 miles) and the gloriously royal Stirling Castle (6.5 miles). Once in Stirling, visit the National Wallace Monument and the town's local art gallery for a spot of culture.

For hiking, mountain biking and fishing, take the 17-mile trip to the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Here you'll find the vast Loch Lomond (33 miles) for fishing or sailing, and the popular Munro of Ben Lomond (34 miles) which offers an enjoyable 4 to-5 hour hiking experience. If you didn't manage to catch any fish on the loch, however, then head to the busy SEA Life centre (36 miles) to see something impressive.

Staying a little closer to home, Dunblane is a short 5 miles from home and boasts plenty of local attractions and activities. Keen golfers will flock to the popular local golf course (4.5 miles), whilst all the family can enjoy the selection of restaurants and local pubs. The town also boasts a stunning ancient cathedral and a local museum. Be sure to check out the town's famous golden post box, courtesy of their proudest prior resident, tennis star Andy Murray.

The property is set in a stunning location and with easy access to local amenities and the great outdoors. We booked for a family reunion as dining room seats 24, this only applies if the other two properties on site are booked as well. This meant we had to amend our planned event with fewer visitors, There is only one key for the property so plan Read moredays out carefully otherwise someone will end up waiting outside, if like us, you have people doing different things through the day.
