Look out over the harbour from this delightful holiday home for 12, which is set at the very heart of the traditional fishing village of Polruan in Cornwall. Enjoy the warm welcome of the six-bedroom, three-storey house, with its characterful yet stylish accommodation. Light the open fire and spend evenings at home or enjoy your proximity to pubs and restaurants if you favour nights out. Make the most of the quayside position to absorb the far-reaching estuary views, as well as exploring the village’s windy streets and independent shops. You can also take the ferry over to the elegant port of Fowey.

Cross the private terrace to enter your attractive holiday home via its reception hall. Make your way into the lounge to bask in the heat of the open fire, watch TV or choose a DVD or book from the selection. Enjoy music in here too – or in the dining room – via the speakers connected to the iPod docking station. Cook meals for your party in the stylish kitchen, with its breakfast bar, where you can pause for a cup of coffee or tea before beginning your preparations. Serve up in the dining room against a backdrop of sea views then after dinner find a quiet moment to yourself in the study, which also looks over the water. Find a utility room adjacent to the kitchen and a shower room also on the ground floor. Head up to the first floor to discover more sea views and three bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms. Three additional bedrooms are on the second floor: two of these have en-suite bath or shower rooms and two are connecting, making them ideal for families. There is also a family bathroom. Take breakfast, lunch or dinner out on your paved terrace on warm days. Light the BBQ out here and gaze out to sea.

  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village.

Follow the South West Coast Path from Polruan as far as you choose. Your party could even walk 7 miles to the pretty village and harbour at Polperro and then catch the bus back. You could also make the 4-mile circular walk via Bodinnick, catching the ferry between Fowey and Polruan. Find an array of beaches in the area too. Try Lantic Bay 2 miles away, sandy Polridmouth Cove 7 miles from your holiday home or the stretching three beaches at Carlyon Bay, 17 miles away. Also, further afield, is eco-attraction the Eden Project, 17 miles away, which members of your party of all ages will enjoy visiting. For another group day out, head to the bustling town of Looe, 10 miles away, with its independent shops and restaurants, as well as boat and fishing trips.

Wonderfully spacious property with everything you could need in a great location right on the harbour side. The ferry across to Fowey, a couple of local cafes, pubs and convenience stores, are all just steps away from the front door. Weather wasn't great but there was always something to watch on the water, we were even treated to a spectacular stoRead morerm which kept the kids occupied dodging the spray. Really nice comfortable house for 12, all bedrooms over look the water and there are plenty of wcs. The pub at the rear has an outside bit but the noise seemed to stop fairly early. The village is perfect for kids with a nice little park and short walls, plus the water taxi to Fowey on the doorstep leaving very regularly. So nice to have the kids oRead moren the beach and be able to pop back for drinks so easily. There are 2 cafes, 2 pubs and 2 shops in the village. Hide

We had a lovely stay at Polruan summer 2023. The location suited the entire family of all ages as it had something for everyone. From a pretty view for the elderly to crabbing for the kids on the quay. The ferry trip across the estuary was a delightful way to travel. Going on to enjoy boat trips and boat hire in Fowey. We had a fabulous holiday, for all the above reasons. The bedrooms all have a super view up the river, it's hard to drag yourself away from the window. A wonderful property right on the front of quaint Polruan beach. Well equipped and perfect for a large family or group. Fowey is easily reached by the pedestrian ferry only a few meters away.
