Celebrate, relax and enjoy spending quality time together at this magnificent converted oast house and barn, which together welcome up to 25 people. Situated 1 mile from Appledore in Kent, the impressive properties come together to offer exceptionally spacious accommodation that blend stylish interiors with unique character. With 10 bedrooms, plus a games room, hot tub, children’s play area and boating lake, they provide everything you need for your very special break. Luxuriate in the splendour of the accommodation or head out with your large group to explore the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and other picturesque places close by.

 

Enter the gorgeous oast house and wander through into the capacious kitchen/diner, with its huge table with space for 26. Enjoy using the mod cons in here as you prepare delicious feasts for your party and pull open the bi-folding doors. After dinner, head into the large lounge to switch on the Smart TV and light the open fire. Find a WC on the ground floor before heading up to the first floor and six bedrooms. Three of these have their own en-suite shower rooms, while three others share the family bathroom. Venture up to the second floor, where another large room has an en-suite shower room. Cross the patio to the barn, which enjoys another open-plan lounge/diner, as well as a modern kitchen. Here, there is also a ground-floor bedroom and en-suite shower room, while upstairs there are two more bedrooms, with en-suite shower rooms. Spread out into your fabulous garden, patio and decked areas on sunny days. Light the BBQ or fire up the pizza oven, watch the children play and unwind in the hot tub with a glass of chilled wine. Amble over to the outdoor games room, which has a WC, for a pool match and send the teenagers up to its snug area. There is parking for a total of 12 cars across both properties.

Head about 2 miles to the edge of the spectacular High Weald and choose from a myriad of routes to enjoy the varied scenery on foot or bike. Drive 6 miles to vibrant Tenterden to take in its historic architecture, independent shops and tempting eateries offering tasty local produce. Catch a steam train along the Kent and East Sussex Railway, so your party can enjoy views of the surrounding countryside in comfort. Venture 16 miles to the National Trust’s 14th-century, moated Bodiam Castle or head 11 miles to the beach at Camber Sands. Visit Bateman’s, a beautiful Jacobean house, 24 miles away, which was once author Rudyard Kipling’s home. Visit rooms still as they were when used by the writer and stop for afternoon tea in the cafe.

We were an intergenerational family group of 17 , ranging from 8 to 80 , and the property was perfect for our needs. We had room to eat together comfortably in the kitchen/ dining area and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out. The weather was bad outside but the Sky screen was handy for watching sport , the games room proved popular wRead moreith the teenagers and the swimming pool provided a lot of activity for the youngest ones. Wow, what an amazing place. We booked this property for a 60th birthday gathering for 20 friends and family and it was perfect, facilities are amazing. The indoor pool was an important factor as November can be cold and wet and it sure was but we had great fun in the pool and jacuzzi which were lovely and warm. We spent a wonderful weekend at the house for my 60th birthday. We were a mixed group with 3 generations of one family. The house is well equipped and very clean. An amazing property with everything you could possibly want and need for an enjoyable stay. The swimming pool and hot tub area was fab and a great addition in case the weather is bad. All 19 of us had a fantastic weekend at Horne's Place! The accomodation is comfortable and very well equipped and the kitchen was well stocked with plenty of space and equipment for all of us. Not to mention the incredible lake, games room, table tennis and swimming pool. We can't recommend this place enough!

We had a fantastic weekend here. The house is beautiful and well equipped. Its in a beautiful area but we hardly had to leave with so many activities at the house - we loved the pool and the boating lake. The perfect place for three generations to spend time together.

The most stunning house, so homely and warm. It has everything you could possibly need, the pool is like a warm bath and is perfect for chilling or lengths. A stunning property set in beautiful countryside. Young and old were able to enjoy a special time together. The pool left us speechless when we saw it. We spent hours and hours in there. The lake and beautiful fish were adored by the children. They loved to feed them every day. We braved the little boats and canoes and sailed across to the little IRead moresland.
