Upper Tamar Lake (3 miles) is heaven for coarse fishing, as it’s well-stocked with carp up to the mid-30lb range, while Lower Tamar Lake (also 3 miles) is a great place for bird-spotters, as there is a bird hide. Further afield, immerse yourself in ancient myths and stunning scenery at Tintagel Castle (23.5 miles), which is linked inextricably with the legend of King Arthur. While you’re in Tintagel, check out King Arthur's Great Halls (23.5 miles), which were built in the 1930s. And if you’re looking for the perfect place for a great family day out, check out Trethorne Leisure Park (26 miles).
