It's just a 500-metre walk to the sandy beach and half a mile into the village centre which has a decent selection of shops and restaurants with all the essentials like a bakery for your fresh morning pastries, plus a spectacular sweet shop which the kids will make a beeline for. There is plenty to occupy the whole family on the beach, with surf hire and lessons, go-karts, and amusement arcades with ten-pin bowling as well as paddling and rock pools to explore. Stroll along the 2.5km beach to the estuary, or take a walk in Northam Burrows Country Park which runs alongside. There are plenty of stretches of coast path to wander – you can walk around to the pretty fishing village of Appledore, in 4 miles, or simply head south up onto the cliffs for some stunning views out to Lundy Island. Nature lovers will enjoy a boat trip to Lundy from Appledore or Bideford to spot puffins, seals and maybe even dolphins. The Big Sheep amusement park is just 3 miles away, and older children (and parents) will love The Ultimate Adventure Centre, also 3 miles away, with fantastic Total Wipeout-style assault trails, high-rope courses and coasteering.

The property was exactly as described on the website with all amenities within walking distance. Just a short walk from the beach and as we were there from 1st May our dog was still able to use one part of the beach. Would highly recommend Morans Thai restaurant. This property is absolutely beautiful. The views from the upstairs rooms are outstanding you could spend hours just sitting and watching. All local amenities are on the door step just a few minutes walk away, pubs, shops and Tesco's express and if you arrive late in the day and need some food there's a lovely pizza shop around the corner. Good layout for the most part. Slightly annoying to have to go through a bedroom to get to the back garden but we coped. Upstairs has great space and the views are amazing. Mondeville is great for 6-8 guests. Very well situated. Good quality facilities and spacious. Weather was dreadful but we made use of the pool table and had taken games with us. Ideal for a long weekend. Holiday Cottages were very helpful at time of booking. Well recommended.

Mondeville is in the perfect location close to the beach and town, with a great pizza place a 2 minute walk away. It was such a treat to be able to walk to the beach without worring about parking. The location is perfect, 5 mins walk to a Tesco Metro, 7 mins to the beach, what more could you want?
