There's even a ping-pong table on the fully enclosed terrace – perfect for entertaining your guests!

Sociable open-plan spaces and quiet nooks are aplenty here, providing room to gather or a peaceful hideaway if your favourite book is calling. Watch the world go by in the large and inviting lounge, with a beautiful bay window that floods the room with natural light. There's space here for the whole group to stretch out in front of the warming wood burner, although there's a separate snug area in the kitchen/diner that also makes a fantastic spot to unwind. Enjoy big family meals or celebrate your special occasion with a feast fit for a king at the dining table, with lush garden views, or dine alfresco on sunny evenings under the setting sun. Stroll to the nearby sea front and enjoy all that popular Cowes has to offer, from the regattas and races in summer months to the peaceful beach walks in winter that will blow the cobwebs away after a night of celebration. The vibrant town itself offers a great choice of cafes, bars and restaurants, while the port at East Cowes (9.5 miles) offers day trips back to the mainland, where you can explore Southampton (22.5 miles) or bustling Portsmouth (19.5 miles). There is plenty to see and do on the Isle of Wight itself though; history fans should take a trip to Queen Victoria's family home, Osborne House (8.5 miles), where you can revel in the opulence of the state apartments and while away an afternoon strolling through the lush gardens. Families will love visiting the UK's oldest theme park at Blackgang Chine (14 miles) – nicknamed the ‘land of imagination' – or discovering the attractions at Robin Hill Country Park (7 miles).

We spent Christmas at Lucerne as a family group of Ten. I was concerned that there wouldnt be enough pots and pans or cooking equipment but it was equipped really well with more than enough and everything you could possibly need catering for a Christmas dinner. The house is furnished and decorated beautifully and is sparkling clean. The outside areRead morea is very secure so no worries about letting our dog out there. Excellent property great for family get togethers or for friends get together Please can the website note that the property is in West Cowes and if the guests are travelling by car they need to take the chain ferry across from the vehicle ferry in East Cowes assuming that they are crossing from Southampton. We did have trouble finding the property Read moreand had to ask someone local to find out were it was. Having said that we had a lovely time. Hide

We had a great stay at Lucerne. There was 10 of us and the house had plenty to keep the adults and kids entertained. It was also great to be only a short stroll from the high street. Would love to stay again some time.

Lucerne is a lovely, comfortable & very well equipped property. Its within a short walk of West Cowes where there are some nice shops and restaurants. Parking is quite difficult, but this should hopefully be resolved soon with the new driveway.

Lucerne is a lovely spacious family house. Our family of 6 and our baby grandson found the space perfect for us and the house will easily accommodate 12 people without feeling crowded. The beds were very comfortable too. We loved playing table tennis in the garden and enjoyed cooking on the BBQ. The shops and restaurants in Cowes were just a short Read morewalk away. My family and I stayed in this house July 2021. It it incredibly kitted out and furnished beautifully. It catered for young kids and had everything we could have possibly needed. Its location is perfect, only stones throw from the harbour and cowes high street. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be sure to book again next year!

We had a really wonderful week at Lucerne . We were a group of 7 adults and a baby , the layout of the rooms suited us perfectly. Lovely kitchen , super outdoor space with plenty of seating and the table tennis was a fantastic addition ( all rental properties should have one !) Comfy beds and modern bathrooms. There are lovely bars and cafes to walRead morek to , and some great shops . Osborne house is a 40 minute walk .We would definitely recommend Lucerne . Hide

Lucerne is a beautiful house with a really high end finish, and the lovely pictures provided show exactly how we found the house on arrival. The beds were very comfortable, the house was very clean and had all the appliances you'd need. The ping pong table and the BBQ are also great additions. It's ideally situated a 5 min walk away from Cowes HighRead moret Street which has an array of good shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The promenade is only a 10 min walk away.
