Traditional exposed beams and brick walls echo the origins of the building, whilst the retained original features add authentic charm. With a neutral, light palette in delightful contrast to the dark wood furniture and floral textiles, this spacious yet cosy cottage is a welcoming home from home. The delightful entrance hall has space for coats and boots, as well as offering a quiet spot to relax and read should a little solitude be required. With a few steps down to the cosy lounge, the split level creates different areas to socialise, and with the comfy sofa and armchairs it is the perfect place to relax together with a film after a busy day. The compact kitchen is ideal for preparing a home cooked meal, whilst the dining room, with its feature fireplace and original bread oven is a quirky and characterful setting for sociable, family mealtimes. The ground floor is completed with a twin bedroom, whilst upstairs there is one double and two twin bedrooms. Had a wonderful week with family in Olde Bakery - 5 adults 1 child and Stanley ( miniature schnauzer- cottage was big enough for us all to comfortably sit and socialise and lots of room for dining. Close to all amenities with lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from all in all a lovely stay.

We had an absolutely stay at the Old Bakery Cottage. We were having a small family celebration - 2 families with children age 6, 6, 8 and 9. Stayed a week with family. The location was fantastic, 2 minutes and you are on the beach. All the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were fitted to a high spec and I will miss the one we had as my own bathroom at home is quite small. Kitchen had everything you need and modern. Eastbourne has plenty of places to visit Read moreand numerous restaurants. Would definitely go again, next year hopefully. Also Mrs Norris was very helpful and very nice to talk to. Ten out of ten! The cottage was delightful and very comfortable, however the situation with the rubbish bins outside was appalling; not something that the owner can remedy but a complaint to the council might achieve something.

Had a lovely break, the cottage was located only yards away from the seafront. Very comfortable with plenty of room for 2 small families or 1 large, a lovely large dining table to have long enjoyable meals. Very cozy and comfortable.

We (x4 individuals) had a wonderful stay. Very easy to locate and enclosed secure parking. A beautiful and impressive restoration. Great for larger groups. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms were great, loved the way two of them are "discovered" through doors matching the wardrobe doors! The cottage was the perfect spot for our holiday. We needed a space with a ground floor bedroom with en-suite for my elderly mother. The space was perfect for a family of 7 with enough space to not feel cramped. Great being so close to the sea and a short walk from the town. We hope to come back again :)

The only thing I didnt like was the alleyway, the rubbish bins and the amount of rubbish left there. It was cleared of rubbish the day we were leaving. This isnt any fault of the owner of the property and it didnt spoil our holiday. Mrs. Norris was very helpful and thoughtful regarding the property. Had a great holiday!

We enjoyed our stay. We were comfortable and thought it a good base to explore Eastbourne without needing to use the car! Lots of places to eat out nearby. A short walk to the beach, the shopping centre and the pier. The owner was keen for us to enjoy our stay and communicated well ahead of our visit. This property was ideal for four adults and three grandchildren. The beach is three minutes walk away across a single road. Unlike Brighton etc there are so many beaches that none are crowded. At low tide the lower half of the beach is sand. Household shopping is easy - a TESCO Express four minutes walk away and the full range of shops an easy 15 mRead moreinutes walk. The interior is lovely. However, it was a struggle for more than 2 people to work in the kitchen at the same time. The cottage was clean but despite comments from previous guests, nothing has been done about a large stain on the lounge carpet. The front door faces onto an alley which is a fly tip area. Each day you are accosted by overflowing, smelRead morely bins (5 of them) which are constantly attacked by seagulls. The owner is fighting the local council but little is done. We had a lovely week in this cottage and owner was very attentive. Tea and milk on arrival was appreciated. Double bed upstairs was very comfortable. Italian ice cream sat in the yard each day was very delicious. Food in the Bistro Pierre was lovely. Ate there twice.

Ye Olde Bakery is a beautiful property, so much history. The rooms are large and well furnished. Eight of my family enjoyed a long awaited holiday together. Everything was of high standard and we couldnt have wished for better.
