Located in the charming Cotswold village of Old Sodbury, this traditional five-bedroom property is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a comfortable base from which to enjoy the outdoor activities within the area. Within walking distance of the friendly local pub and well-stocked village store, head out of the village along the Cotswold Way to reach the medieval church and Iron Age hillfort. Wander through the peaceful woodlands of Westonbirt arboretum (10 miles), home to 2,500 species of trees, and explore the 13-metre high Treetop Walkway for a different perspective on the landscape below.

Dating back to 1875, this pretty stone cottage combines traditional features with modern conveniences. Step through the wooden front door into the grand reception hall: with polished floorboards, original fireplace and exposed central beam, this is a restful space for relaxed family evenings of conversation and board games. Head through to the snug for an evening movie or peaceful relaxation in front of the wood burner. Sip an early evening cocktail in the third reception area, a more formal space with open fire, that leads through to the spacious conservatory, making this an ideal area for entertaining. Share a bottle of wine with friends as you cook up a storm in the wonderful kitchen, a generous space warmed by the traditional four-oven AGA. Enjoy leisurely meals at the elegant dining table which comfortably seats all guests. When the day is done, head upstairs where you will find the five well-appointed bedrooms. The two double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower, are warm and cosy with pretty linens and cosy throws. Accessed via the twin bedroom, the king-size bedroom is tastefully decorated in soothing tones. The final bedroom is another generous king-size with access to the Jack and Jill bathroom. Outside, enjoy a morning coffee in the walled garden or light the BBQ on the patio for a sociable evening meal.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage...the perfect place to get a big group together. The hot tub and sunny garden are beautiful, the location is great (village but driving distance to Bristol and Bath) and the owners were really helpful and friendly.

Lovely and spacious cottage with large rooms and comfortable bedrooms. Easily housed my party of 8 adults and 2 children. Great for walking as both the Cotswold Way and the Frome Valley Walk are literally on the doorstep.

Jayne was a super host. The house was cosy, inviting and very suitable for big groups. The hot tub and garden area are fabulous too. Its not far from shops if you fancy a bimble and there are lots of takeaways locally that deliver. We had an amazing time there.

All the family really loved the cottage and it offered everything we needed. For the time of year we were unlucky with the weather but spending some of our stay indoors gave us all plenty of options to keep us busy. The kitchen is big and there is an American style fridge freezer so entertaining on a large scale is easy to organise. I was an Aga viRead morergin and needed a quick lesson but now I need one in my life! We hope to return soon! Hide
