This superb property dates back over 300 years ago and was once the heart of a working family farm, completely renovated with plenty of period charm with a contemporary twist, this property is ideally located for everyone.

Find your next holiday base in the Yorkshire Dales at this characterful and stylish farmhouse, perfect for group holidays. Over 200 years old, this home has stood the test of time and has only become more beautiful with age. With five fabulous bedrooms, flamboyant styling in every room, and a garden that calls for a celebration, you've found your dream holiday home for a lively gathering.

Boasting both beautiful old features, as well as stylish contemporary details, the communal spaces in this farmhouse are divine. Pairing bold colours and eccentric art with traditional cottage details make for inspiring decor that works as a brilliant backdrop for a get-together. The lounge is a sumptuous room with plush sofas, emerald walls and a classic wood burner that instantly makes everyone feel at home. After a long day of exploring the Dales, return here for a relaxing film night on the Smart TV. Mealtime is bliss when you're cooking in a spacious and well-equipped kitchen that has both a dining table and breakfast bar; there is a dishwasher too which always makes the cleanup easier. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor - a pretty double and twin bedroom that conveniently opens out onto the garden. The other three bedrooms can be found up the cottage-style stairs, a double, a twin and the master that features a dreamy four-poster bed. There are three bathrooms in this cottage, so you can add a bubble bath to your daily holiday routine. The garden is enclosed and features a patio area with garden furniture, charcoal BBQ and a fire pit made for late nights under the stars toasting marshmallows. Richmond (3.5 miles) is a charming market town on the borders of Wensleydale and Swaledale. It boasts an 11th-century castle, fine Georgian architecture, a historic Georgian theatre and a large cobbled market square as some of its many attractions. Stroll into town for a cup of Yorkshire tea at one of the many tea rooms there or pop over for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants.

The gorgeous River Swale runs through the town and less than a mile across the river are the River Swale Waterfalls (3 miles from the property). You can walk in either direction along the river and deep into the countryside without having to go anywhere near the car. We also recommend exploring the restored former Richmond Railway Station which has lots to entertain young and old including a small cinema, cafe/restaurant, gallery, microbrewery and artisan bakery.

Richmond is also known as 'The Gateway to the Dales' so expect stunning Dales scenery within minutes of leaving the town. Peppering this glorious countryside are countless attractive little towns and villages and if you enjoy a bit of surreal entertainment, how about a visit to the quite brilliant Forbidden Corner, an attraction full of statues and hidden surprises, 10.5 miles away near Middleham.

The historic village of Easby, home to Easby Abbey, is just 5.5 miles away. Set on the banks of the River Swale, the Abbey is the perfect spot for a picnic in the summer months. There are lots of other breathtaking sights to explore in the Dales, including Aysgarth Falls (11.5 miles) which were featured in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves!

The nearby village of Aysgarth (16 miles) boasts many great options to eat and, if you visit in spring, you can’t leave without a visit to Freeholders’ Wood where bluebells, anemones and primroses will be in full bloom.

This is a superb area for walkers and cyclists with many routes from the doorstep or just a short distance away, including Alfred Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast Walk which passes close by, and the Pennine Way (around 20 miles away).

Fabulous cottage, lovely secluded location but only minutes away from the village & a few minutes more from beautiful Richmond. Cottage provided everything needed for a comfortable & cosy weekend, some of it spent in front of the log fire with hot chocolate & a movie!

Nice stay in this roomy cottage! The only downside was the lack of showers In a 5 bedroom house that potentially could have 10 people staying having only one shower could be a problem. Other than that we enjoyed our stay

Had a really good break at the cottage, easily accommodated 8 adults. Having read some of the previous reviews was concerned but have to say found the cottage smart and clean, exactly what we expected.

The cottage was very over priced it was 3000, we thought it was going to be very nice for the price but very disappointed that we paid that much money the pictures maid it a lot better than it was.
