Rustic features mixed with contemporary styles creates a homely feel and makes this property feel warm and inviting. The front of the property opens onto the village green where there is a brook and large open grass space, whilst the rear is where you'll find the private garden. With a charcoal BBQ available and garden furniture this is the ideal space to enjoy each other's company. Heading inside there is a large kitchen, perfect for preparing a hearty breakfast before heading out for the day. Fitted with wooden worktops, cupboards and flooring, this is a unique space full of character. Richmond Castle, just 5.5 miles away, is well worth the visit for its stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales alone. Bring a picnic and take in the view before exploring the secluded gardens and learning the history of the castle from the interactive exhibition. Other castles close by that are worth exploring include Middleham Castle (14 miles), Barnard Castle (19 miles) and Bolton Castle (17 miles). Thorp Perrow, just 10 miles away, covers 100 acres and is a great spot to walk around. Find the tearoom for an afternoon treat, watch the bird of prey displays or make friends with the meerkats and wallabies.

Lovely house in a nice location. Our family enjoyed getting together under one roof for a relaxing week. Loved the piano in the hallway and selection of books. The care taker was warm and welcoming. I would recommend this cottage to any large family/ friends wanting to enjoy the countryside.

Brookside cottage was a fantastic find for a multi generation family holiday, with grandparents, parents, kids and dogs! This really is a lovely house for a big family get-together - comfortable, spacious and full of character. The bedrooms are pleasant, and as two have en-suite, it makes bathroom availability unproblematic for a large group. Also, the number of downstairs areas means that different groups of people can follow their own interests in separate spaces. Stayed at house for a weekend to celebrate my dads 90th. Excellent accommodation, plenty of room for everyone to be together as well as some space for quiet time. 11 Brookside is a characterful, roomy property on the beck in a fabulous Yorkshire village just off the A1. The property was ideal for me, my marathon support crew and 2 dogs. This is a lovely large holiday house, perfect for multi generation family holidays. It has everything a large family needs to enjoy time together. Their are plenty rooms if you need to a bit of quiet times, equally the rooms are big enough for everyone to be together. This was our second holiday here.

Good amount of supplies of bathroom and kitchen products. We had a wonderful week in this beautiful house. Was lovely to have all the family together in a lovely base for days out. The owners live right next door. However is not dog friendly. The garden is not secure; such a shame as we could not let our dog out in the garden without going with her. Well equipped spacious house with a wonderful family feeling and in a great location. The Caretaker Darcy made us immediately feel at home and the welcome pack was generous and appropriate for all age groups and as it was December it was wonderful to have Christmas decorations. the house is in Catterick Village not Richmond itself and it would take time to walk there. The village is pretty with a local co-op and pub. The house is really well appointed with good beds and lovely linen. A hamper of goodies was waiting for us on arrival. Nice week away for 9 people. Equipment in kitchen good. Spacious. However house needs modernisation and under cupboards and beds were dust and rubbish. Water pressure for showers low- needs electric. We absolutely loved our stay at Beckside. It's in such a beautiful, quiet spot with a little beck running outside with ducks and ducklings. We were a family of 11 and there was plenty of room for us all to find a quiet spot as well as a lovely, large and very well-equipped kitchen. It's location meant we could easily reach the Dales, Richmond and NRead moreorth Allerton for Betty's tearoom as well as take day trips to the Yorkshire coast. This is a fantastic large family house. There were 12 of us, 7 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of room, the kids loved playing hide and seek.
