The French Manor House

Ariege, France

Sleeps: 16

Bedrooms: 7

Bathrooms: 5

Truly imposing scenery, Ariège, which is one of the most southern regions of France is a wonderful location in which to base a holiday with a large group of friends or family. Rent one of the imposing castles or chateaux in the countryside and enjoy some of the finest food, wines, weather...and, water sports!

Presenting spectacular wild scenery, Ariège sits in the centre of the Pyrenees and is a great place to embark on an activity fuelled break, with visitors making the most of both land and water-based sporting opportunities. Cyclists can take on part of the Tour De France route, whilst those keen on fishing will enjoy the premium trout streams which give way to deep rivers, perfect for river rafting and kayaking expeditions.

The surrounding countryside is simply awe-inspiring. A haven for wildlife,  Ariège has been largely designated as a Natural Regional Park housing a variety of wildlife, flora and fauna. The ancient method of transhumance is still practiced in the region; which involves leading the livestock (normally made up of cows, sheep, pigs…and a cat!) up to the mountains for the summer months.
