Property description

The location of The Hope Cove would be difficult to beat. Fantastic sea views from the house extend over Bigbury Bay to the Channel beyond.

The fact that the South West Coast Path meanders past the door makes it an ideal venue for group walking holidays as well as for families and reunion/special occasion gatherings.

The Hope Cove is an extremely large house, and sleeps up to 34 in comfort. It has recently been totally renovated, and the décor is now stylish-cum-shabby-chic, the rooms clean and fresh with contemporary furnishings. The house is offered on a self-catering, exclusive-use basis.

Area

The village of Hope Cove was once a favourite haunt for smugglers, and is now a charming holiday destination. The beaches are clean and sandy, the atmosphere peaceful and relaxed. The village itself is actually divided in two – Outer and Inner Hope. The village is a picture book of cob and stone cottages and thatched roofs huddled around a tiny square. The windows are bright with geraniums, the cottages tiny enough to require bowing your head to enter! Although fishing here is not what it was, the village is still famous for its crabs and lobsters. Larger boats operate from Brixham and Plymouth.

Devon's heritage coastline involves miles of delightful scenery and interesting walks. The area is famous for its unique flora and fauna, including the nature reserve at Slapton Ley. The trendy sailing town of Salcombe is only a few minutes away.
