Property description
A restored farmhouse estate, 10 miles from Lucca, that’s been given a complete makeover and is now divided into four beautiful villas. The houses - Camelia, Orchidea, Melograno and Ginestra - stand close to each other, and each has its own kitchen, living room, bathroom etc. Between them they have 15 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, making them ideal for large parties (holidays, wedding guest accommodation, conferences) who wish to rent out the whole estate. Any size group from 12 to 30 can hire the Casale exclusively. Casas Camelia and Orchidea can, upon request, be inter-connected to form one large house.
The cellar under Orchidea is arranged as a big kitchen and separate dining room where everyone can eat together. Each house also has its own dining table and outside gazebo eating area.
The farmhouse is in a great position for exploring Tuscany, being just outside Lucca, close to highlights such as Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano, and 25 miles from the coast at Viareggio. Groups who are, perhaps, getting married in the famous historic villas in Capannori or Lucca, often stay at this house for the whole week. It’s also often used by companies organising training courses for their employees.

On a hillside, ten miles from the centre of Lucca. Nearest supermarket five miles; grocery shop one mile.

Accommodation
The villas are relaxing and comfortable inside, their bedrooms and living areas decorated in antique Tuscan furniture, their ground floors tiled to suit the long, hot summers. Each house has large sofas grouped around open fireplaces, wrought iron beds made up with traditional covers, wooden beamed ceilings and a spacious farmhouse kitchen with dishwasher etc. The houses feel light and sunny, with big shuttered windows opening onto classic Tuscan views. The bathrooms, 13 of which are ensuite, are decorated in Carrara marble, and some have jacuzzi baths.
Facilities
Services included in the price:
- Housekeeper twice a week (generally Tuesday and Thursday).
- Fresh towels provided at midweek (generally on Tuesday).
- Week-end: all bedlinen changed, fresh towels supplied and the whole villa cleaned (if you stay for more than one week)
- Laundry room equipped with steam-iron and washing-machine.
- internet access (wireless connection)
- Final cleaning
Additional services (available on request and not included in the price):
- Gas GPL to provide central heating
- Monday and Thursday laundry services
- Chef and domestic staff, to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner (this service must be booked in advance - i.e. when you make a reservation).
Guests are free to help themselves to produce from the vegetable garden and fruit trees.
Area
Lucca is a medieval city, one of the most beautiful in Tuscany. Don’t miss a walk around the ancient preserved city walls, where you’ll enjoy sweeping views over the city’s beautiful palaces and churches. Here the locals stroll, walk their dogs, chat on benches under plane trees and enjoy early evening passeggiate. The town has numerous tempting bars and trattorie, and is great for shopping. There is an outdoor market once a week which is well worth visiting to stock up on fresh produce, and an antiques market once a month.
Horse riding (3kms) and golf (36kms) can both be arranged.
The city is ideally positioned for exploring the best of Tuscany, being close to Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and Versilia. Versilia is famous for its beaches and nightlife (discos, clubs and bars). There are fascinating wine routes you can drive from Lucca.
