Accommodation
Former guests at Archerfield are said to have included Mary, Queen of Scots and Winston Churchill. Today you’ll find that each of the 15 individually-designed bedrooms has been painstakingly restored to its former glory, and each has a distinctive Adams fireplace and carefully chosen antiques. Their ensuite bathrooms are equally impressive, many of them featuring roll top baths and incredible views of Fidra Island (the island featured in Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, “Treasure Island”).
If the weather turns chilly you can curl up with a good book in front of various open fires. Entertainment in the house includes a snooker table, flat screen TVs and DVDs in every bedroom, two plasma screens with Sky TV in the boardroom and internet access in all the bedrooms and the boardroom.
There are also 12 sumptuous Golf Pavilions, adjacent to the main house, which are ideal for smaller groups (up to 24) on a golfing break. Each pavilion is self-contained, with a relaxed living area and a double ensuite bedroom, and each can be hired on an individual basis.

Is it to be black tie and little black numbers? Or jeans and t-shirts? Fancy having breakfast at noon? Or making yourself cheese on toast at 2am? It's your call. The house is the perfect venue for a business event with a beautiful, versatile meeting room which can be arranged according to your requirements and offers the latest technology to communicate, present and work online.
The staff can also arrange all types of team-building exercises and corporate entertainment such as fishing or off-road driving, as well as golf on the two private members’ courses. Just give them your brief.
As far as golf is concerned, all guests staying in either the house or the pavilions can book limited tee times on the two private members courses at Archerfield: the Fidra and Dirleton Links, for an additional cost.
Children are welcome.
