Sleeps up to 12

Property description

Home Farm is a wonderful, wisteria-covered family home, situated at the base of Beeston Castle, near Tarporley, Cheshire. The house, which can sleep 12, is beautifully decorated, with large sunny reception rooms and bedrooms and a traditional farmhouse kitchen.

Downstairs there are two substantial sitting rooms, both of which have large open fireplaces. One of the sitting rooms has a large flat screen TV with SKY and DVD player. The other is quieter and more formal.

A separate breakfast room leads onto a covered terrace with an enclosed garden suitable for croquet and other outdoor games. This garden has wonderful views across to the Peckforton hills, where more than eight miles of woodland walks lead through the Sandstone Trail.

The main dining room in the Stone Hall adjoining the house can seat 12 guests comfortably and has a large open fireplace and French doors opening onto an expansive terrace at the back of the house. This terrace is equipped with a table, chairs and sun loungers and is perfect for barbeques. This secluded area has unrivalled views across open fields to the Welsh hills and the sun setting on the historic castle of Beeston behind the house is a memorable sight. There is also a delightful walk down to the nearby canals and railway.

Adjoining the Stone Hall is a fantastic games room with a pool table, dart board, card table, piano and a sofa area. There is also a surround sound stereo system in this room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances, two ovens and three fridges, as well as plenty of crockery and china. It looks out over a small, herb-lined courtyard.

Leading off the main hallway is a bar area with a stereo system wired up to all the sitting rooms. There is also a study and wireless broadband.

The historic castle of Peckforton, which hosts numerous weddings a year, is very close to Home Farm and would be an ideal venue for a bride and groom. Please ask the property owners for more details.

Location

Home Farm is located at the base of Beeston Castle, a 12th century ruin which provides a spectacular backdrop. All around the house is lush green farmland, yet it's only half an hour to Crewe station and direct trains to London Euston (journey time:1.5 hrs). Plenty of local taxi firms operate in the area to ferry people to and from the station. The house is a four hour drive from London.

The nearest village is Tarporley (a 10 minute drive away) which has a variety of local shops, supermarkets, antique shops and health spas. There are a few local pubs including the delightful Pheasant Inn, in nearby Burwardsley. This is 10 minutes away by car or, for the more adventurous, a 45 minute walk through beautiful woodland which soon works up a thirst!

The City of Chester is 30 minutes drive away and Liverpool, home of the famous Aintree race course (which hosts the Grand National) is just over an hour.

The remainder are on the first floor.

All bedrooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable and provide a blissfully quiet and restful nights sleep. The beds have high quality mattresses and towels and linen will be provided.
