Property description
Greenaway Heights is a fabulous new build in a stunning position on the cliffs at the mouth of the Camel Estuary. A light, contemporary style makes it an ideal seaside holiday home, and the beach below the house is only a short walk away.
The most appealing features of this house include a kitchen with a big Rangemaster cooker, American fridge and warming cabinet; a separate TV room with plasma screen TV, sky, DVD and hifi; a summer room full of sofas (in addition to a large living room); a wet room useful for washing off sand from the beach; and a comfy seating area on the landing that looks out to sea, ideal for watching sunsets.
The house has five bedrooms, all decorated with tender loving care. There are two sheltered terraces for sunbathing and outdoor dining. The village of Rock, popular with visiting Londoners, is a very short drive away.
Location
Trebetherick village has a post office and general store, as well as the popular Mowhay Restaurant. The St Moritz Hotel nearby has leisure facilities, including the Cow Shed Spa, open to non-residents, a restaurant, cafe and internet access.
Rock is nearby, and Wadebridge (6 miles away) where it is possible to order online food deliveries from Tesco. The agent for Greenaway Heights is able to provide provisions by liaising with a local, well-stocked Spar Shop in Rock.
Airports: Newquay (at St Mawgan) is approx 20 minutes from Wadebridge.
Station: Bodmin Parkway (4 hours from here to London).
Accommodation
The five bedrooms consist of one super king double, one king size double, two twins and a children's room with four single beds, so most suited to children. The super king is well worth a mention, with its sitting area, telescope and ensuite bathroom. There are two further bathrooms, and a shower room with a power shower. On the landing there is a comfortable sitting area looking out to sea, the place for watching sunsets over a glass of wine. Though you may prefer to be outside on the enclosed terrace with its large dining table and barbecue. A second terrace enjoys being a sheltered suntrap with a few loungers.
Reception rooms include a large sitting room, and a summer room full of sofas. There's a games room with table tennis, a TV room, a utility room, a boot room (with washing machine and tumble dryer) and a wet room. The kitchen has an oval dining table seating 12 and, at the other end of the room, painted wood units arranged around an island work station.
Outside there are lawned areas and an enclosed garden high above the house, enjoying glorious estuary views – perfect for sundowners!

Area
Daymer Bay - famed nationally for being one of the finest places in Britain to kite and windsurf - is situated just around the corner from Greenaway Heights.
From Daymer Bay it is possible to walk along the sand dunes or beach to Rock, which takes you past the St Enodoc Golf Course.
Rock is largely regarded as Cornwall’s most sought after location and exclusive coastal resort. The primary draw is its stunning setting, along with the opportunities it offers locally for every water sport imaginable. The Rock Sailing School, for example, offers wonderful sailing, water skiing and windsurfing. You may prefer simply to potter about on the vast sand dunes.
Local places to visit include Polzeath (for surfing), the old fishing village of Port Isaac (Doc Martin country), Daymer Bay (great shrimping and prawning) and various famous gardens such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Pencarrow and Lanhydrock. Within an hour you can visit the Eden Project.
The walks around here are stunning. Beyond Polzeath the coastline becomes much more rugged and is largely managed by the National Trust. This allows walkers to explore various footpaths, including the South West Coastal Path.
Bikes can be hired in Wadebridge and Padstow, and the Camel Trail can be ridden from Padstow as far as Bodmin Moor. Creally’s Adventure Park is very popular with children. There is also a bird sanctuary, a steam railway, an aquarium in Newquay, and a farmers’ market in Wadebridge every Thursday.
Surf equipment can be hired everywhere, and there’s a swimming pool available at the nearby golf course of Roserrow.
There are masses of good pubs and plenty of cafes in this area. Rick Stein’s famous eateries are across the estuary in Padstow, and there’s a Jamie Oliver restaurant (called 15) in Watergate Bay, 45 minutes away.
