This truly impressive mill house really is a stunning property. Situated in seven private acres of wonderful waterside surroundings with a working water wheel, this spectacular house offers extremely high quality living accommodation.
The newest part of the mill has been rebuilt to the highest specification with surround sound in the kitchen and sitting room, handmade oak doors, double glazed windows, under-floor heating and programmable lighting. Furnishings are contemporary and to the highest standard.
The original Mill House (which is interlinked to the new) retains all its original character and makes a wonderful contrast to the new. Outside, the gardens are flanked by the River Ivel on all sides which is straddled downstream by the beautiful Blunham Bridge dating back to the 17th century. Cambridge is a half hour drive away. The Mill can accommodate a total of seventeen guests.
Location
Just outside the village of Blunham, in a very peaceful location yet only a few minutes from the A1. Bedford is 15 minutes away, Cambridge 30, London 90.
Nearest airports: Luton and Stansted (both approximately one hour).
Nearest station: Bedford (trains from London St Pancras run frequently, and arrive in under an hour). From Sandy and St Neots stations, trains run direct to London King's Cross.
Accommodation
The property consists of two interlinked buildings, the Old Mill and the New Mill, in all a total of nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms. On entering the new mill, you will find a large modern fully fitted kitchen, featuring original mill ironworks, with a separate family breakfast room, toilet and laundry room. There is a large family sitting room and dining room, furnished to the highest standard with traditional wood burner and large screen television. Views from all the main reception rooms are wonderful and look out towards the working mill and surrounding water. There are five bedrooms in this part of the house.
In the old part of the mill, there is a further sitting room and dining room with kitchen. Four bedrooms are situated in this part of the house. Wi-fi is available throughout the mill.
